How was everyone's weekend?
Ours was soooo lazy haha. I can't even remember what we did Friday. Saturday I laid on the couch all day until we went to a Christmas party at night. Yesterday I laid on the couch some more then went to the store with my mom and laid on her couch for a while, then went to the ILs for my SIL's birthday.
Seriously - laziest person ever! hahaha
Re: How was everyone's weekend?
I went to a work-related Holiday gathering on Friday, we did a Secret Santa Exchange, which was actually one of the better ones I've done, since we all know each other fairly well and got into the gift buying.
Saturday we did 6 loads of laundry, and I worked on a final paper. Sunday I went to Panera with a friend and worked on the same paper.
I had a busy weekend and feel like all I did was eat!
Friday we had a fabulous dinner at The Palm in Boston-- I ordered king crab legs and was in heaven! (My mom's boss paid for the dinner so I was carefree in my selections!)
Saturday we drove down to Mohegan Sun for a 30th birthday party for DH's best friend... I won $23! I realized that it was my first time at a casino since I turned 21... I've been to Vegas but I was too young & couldn't gamble. We watched Julie & Julia on Saturday night and it was soooooo good!
Sunday I made coffee cake & chocolate babka and celebrated Hanukkah at my parents w/latkes!
Mine was pretty good.
Friday night we had a work holiday party at my boss' house, and it was a nice, low-key event.
Saturday morning I got on a plane to Chicago to be part of a bachelorette surprise party for my college roommate. She was sooooo surprised--I have an awesome picture of it--that I think we scared 10 years off her life
We had a good time doing typical bachelorette-type things
Yesterday we had brunch with the couple and then I took a standby flight back home. It was delayed a couple of times due to the weather here, but I still got back earlier than my originally scheduled flight so I was happy.

It was pretty good. Friday was uneventful (I don't even remember what we did, but it wasn't much).
I worked Saturday morning/early afternoon then ran home to get ready for a Christmas party we were hosting. Then we had said Christmas party
Yesterday was pretty lazy. I sat around all morning, we went to Jordan's to buy a new bed!! and then I did a few hours of work when we got back.
My weekend was a mix of good and bad.
Friday DH and I stayed in, I made dinner & a pie to bring to my aunt's on Sunday.
Saturday we went out to breakfast then packed up to go to CT. We went for drinks with my brother in the afternoon, then out for a really fun yummy dinner with my bestie & her boyfriend.
Sunday decorated around my mom's house. The weather turned nasty around noon when everyone was headed to my aunt's for "christmas eve". My mom had an awful accident (she's fine physically, but she had a bit of breakdown and the car is totalled) so she and my brothers didn't make it to my aunt's. DH and I did even though the roads & traffic were awful. We had a delish dinner (steak & stuffed shrimp) and did secret santa with my family. We got back up here around 10:30 last night, completely exhausted.
Mine was very good
Friday my cousin/ex-housemate had a big, big catered Christmas party. it was fun, but I was tired and DH had a cold, so we left shortly after they brought out the desserts- it was all passed finger foods and an hors d'ouerves table.
Saturday DH stayed in bed all day and I went to CT where my mom was running a Wreaths Across America ceremony. Then my parents and I got take out from Cheesecake Factory and I finished my 106 Christmas cards while we watched "It's a Wonderful Life".
Sunday mom and I went to church, I drove back here before the storm started, and as the rain started, DH and I drove down to Uxbridge to cut down our tree. We found a wonderful tree quickly, got it all set and tied it to the car- but very poorly, so it kept getting air born as we drove down 146. We took back roads home, it took us about 3 times longer to get home than to get down there, and THEN we realized our tree stand is no where to be found- another casualty of the move! DH went out to 5 stores, bought the only stand at the last store (while I made pizza, I'm trying to find a good pizza dough recipe, and this one was good), only to discover that there was no way our tree was going to fit in that stand, so after dinner he went out to 2 more places and finally, finally found one that would work. Apparently no one keeps tree stands in stock 2 weeks before Christmas. But the tree is up and lit, and we'll decorate it tonight.
And I'm either coming down with a cold, or am suffering from allergies caused by burying my face in a Christmas tree for about an hour while we fussed with it. But it was still an enjoyable weekend!
Thanks. She spun on the ice and ended up facing the opposite direction, so she thought she might as well go home. As she was putting the car back in gear she saw a guy hit the same patch and lose control. She couldnt move the car fast enough so she jumped out and the guy hit the car head on. Then as they were waiting for the police to come another car did the same thing and hit both the second guy's and my mom's cars again. She got so lucky and I'm so happy her she had her wits about her to get herself out of the car.
Wow! I'm glad she's okay.
So scary! I'm glad she's OK, and I agree it's great that she was able to think so fast on her feet. I could totally see freezing up in a situation like that.
So scary! I'm so glad she's ok!
Wow that is scary, but at least she's alright.
Wow, smal, I'm glad your mom is okay, that black ice stuff is scary!
