I know it's been forever since I checked in. ?I keep forgetting.
I definitely stalled out at 26 books (plus 4 on adoption that I didn't tally). ?I will get a few more in before the holidays are over, but will not be close to 50 reads this year. ?I've learned a lot about my reading patterns, likes & dislikes, which was my underlying goal, so I am happy. ?(Plus, my dad already told me how awesome he thought I was for reading 26, because that's one every 2 weeks, which is generally amazing, so I don't feel like such a loser about being only halfway there.)
My top three would have to be:
Barney's Version, Mordecai Richler?
Me Talk Pretty One Day, David Sedaris ?(I was lmao the entire time!! the brother/rooster thing is so spot on with my sense of humour!)
When I Was Young & In My Prime, Alayna Munice
?
Two of those are about alzheimer's and aging and had me in tears. ?

Anyone else finish their goal?
How do you feel about how close or far you were from the original number?
And, list your top three books for the year.?
Re: How are the readers doing????
I didn't do as bad as I thought
My goal was 20, but my minimum was 12 and I reached that at least (so far). I have one more book I'll probably finish before the year is up too. Even though I didn't reach 20 books, 12 books is the most books I've ever read in a year! So, I'm happy
My top 3 were:
Time Traveller's Wife
The Book of Negroes
The Glass Castle
I'm not even close of my goal. I wanted to read 25 this year and I only read 10. Out of the 10 I read the top three for me were:
Time Traveller's wife
Eat Pray Love
The Secret Life of Bees
I think my goal was 30, and I have read 27, so I feel great about that! Should be able to get three more in by the end of the year.
Top 3:
A Thousand Splendid Suns (Kahled Hosseini)
The Lost Symbol (Dan Brown)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Steig Larsson)
I said 25 (I think) and I read 34. I should actually be finished 2 more by the time 2010 rolls around though.
My top three (or 5):
The Book of Negroes
Water For Elephants
The Year of Living Biblically
The Other Boleyn Girl
American Wife
I said I'd do 25, I'm probably about 15 or so, so doubtful I'll make it. I really haven't read much this year outside of stuff for my masters and pregnancy books... and honestly I can't even tell you of the novels I read which ones were any good....
I hope next year is a better reading year for me!

AMAZING. ?Good job surpassing your goal!!!?
