I brought a potato for lunch that I need to bake in the microwave. I googled and answers are all over the place. I was thinking 4ish mins on each side? Does that sound right? I am cooking (if you can call this cooking) challenged.
Re: Potato question
I don't think you have to turn them over, then again, I don't think i ever made a potato in the microwave. I actually just started eating them again recently. There was a s pan of years that I wouldn't eat them (ate them too much as a child).
I know this doesn't help you one bit. I do know, however, that some microwaves have a potato button (like for popcorn and beverages, does your's have one?)
Yes, this is exactly what I do, give or take depending on the size of the potato. I start with 4 minutes and then check to see how done it is. If the knife/fork goes in somewhat easily but not totally easy, I would probably start ~2-3 minutes. If it's rock-hard, I'd throw it in for 5-6 minutes.
Mel I will have to check my work microwave to see if it has a potato button.
Yea thats a good idea Paula I can always keep checking on it. So thats how you know if it's done if the fork goes in easily? That was going to be my next question lol.
