Baby Registry question

So I have been all stressed out about the clothes on our registry.  Obviously I mostly have little newborn sleepers since we aren't finding out the sex.

But how many do I really need?  And should I be getting NB, 0-3, 3-6?  How many of each?

Should I just leave clothes off altogether?

HELP!!!

Re: Baby Registry question

  • I wouldn't worry too much about putting clothes on there.  People still buy the generic/nongender stuff like onesies and stuff.  And you usually get clothes when the baby is born, people like to give that as an additional gift.  Don't get too many newborn things though, they outgrow that size rather quickly.  I'd go ahead and buy a few sleepers and onesies on your own and not register for it.

This. I got more clothes at my shower for Cole than I wanted. I actually still had things with tags on them b/c he just never got around to wearing it. THe first few months it's just easier to have them in sleepers or onesies and way more comfortable for them. Have a few footed onesies and some non-footed onesies in size 0-3 or 3 months. I don't even think my kids were in NB sizes for a month.

  • My mother always told me to make mommies the happiest to buy 6-9 month clothes since no one ever gives those. I have since been told how nice that was.

  • From what I've noticed though, people are more apt to buy clothes at showers for babies where they know boy or girl. And less likely to buy gender-neutral clothes...but that's just my experience. I'd focus on other stuff on the registry and then if you end up needing clothes, buy that yourself. It's more fun to go on a $150 shopping spree for clothes, then to drop the same on one big item!

So true. By 6 months all of the cute clothes are too small. It was nice to have a couple of packs in the larger sizes.

I didn't register for clothes at all and still got quite a few things. People just can't help themselves around all those tiny frilly things.

She is right, I've noticed where any shower I go to and the babies gender is known, all the mom to be gets are clothes, tons of either blue or pink.  Another reason I didn't want to know!  They don't get the things they need, just tons of clothes, usually size newborn!
