Brrrr!!

How are my fellow Edmonton Nesties dealing with our deep freeze? Looking at the environment Canada website, we're -39 with windchill at the moment. I was so bundled at the bus stop I think I scared people LOL.

Re: Brrrr!!

  • It is brutal out there!  Our back door is frozen shut which resulted in a broken door knob (yay) and then DH took my car our last night to pick up something at the grocery store and it wouldn't start when he came back out 5 minutes later.  I am car less until we can get it started again, the battery is ok but I think either the gas lines froze, because I was super low on gas and he was going to take it for gas next, or the clutch froze.  This doesn't help me finish my Christmas shopping.

  • Brrr, it's freezing here too (now into the 2nd week of it). -52 last night, -44 right now. Yuck!
  • In Calgary we're sitting at -27c. Woke up this morning to -32c.
I was up in Edmonton this past weekend. We had to keep pumping the gas pedal to keep the car going at the stop lights Saturday.
We're getting a chinook here in Calgary tomorrow. Supposed to be -10 Tuesday, -3 - above 0 the rest of the week!

  • I haven't gone out yet today and now I'm not so sure that I want to:-(
  • Yup the weekend was brutal in Edmonton! It was -52C overnight on Saturday! I would of stayed in all weekend but we had a Xmas Party to go to. When I went to the store yesterday it was -44C and I couldn't believe how many people were just wearing this super thin fleece jacket things. I had on two shirts, one sweater, a winter jacket, a hat, scarf, mittens and boots! Geez, crazies! I am looking forward to Wednesday when it gets to -12C and then on Saturday 0C. Yay!!!!

  • Yes ma'am it is COLD!! I had to go out earlier for an ultrasound, but otherwise we're just staying in and staying warm. I cant wait for the end of the week when it's supposed to warm up a bit.
  • Wednesday can't come soon enough.  You know it is REALLY cold when you look forward to -12.
  • I'm more looking at Thursday, where it says we might get up to plus 2 :D

DH and I are supposed to be making a pre-Christmas visit to my family in Calgary this weekend, and we don't want to drive if the weather is going to be crap.

  • I really hope it warms up before I'm out there for Christmas. BRRRRRR I'm in Calgary for Christmas and Edmonton for New Years. I loved the chinook a few years ago, +18 on Christmas Eve in Calgary :)
  • It is gross cold out there, if I did not have a doctors appointment yesterday morning I would not have even left the house, today is a PJ day and xmas baking, we are not leaving unless we have to, which is highly unlikely, looks like I will finish shopping later in the week when we get our spring like weather =) Hope you all stay toasty!
