WTH Walmart

We were running errands today and trying to pick up some last minute stuff for the baby. We ended up at two different Walmart stores - one a grocery supercentre and one just a regular store.

We went to the regular store first and went to buy eggnog.  It was $.97 in the flyer, but their price was 1.99.  They wouldn't give it to us for $.97 because it was the Walmart grocery flyer, not the store flyer and without bringing the flyer to them, they couldn't price match.

We noticed different prices on wipes too.  They were cheaper at the supercentre store.  So weird. You'd think walmart would have the same prices across the board.

Re: WTH Walmart

  • that's pretty annoying. The wal-mart near our house just became a super centre in September and I bought 2 eggnogs this weekend for 97 cents each! yum! too bad none of my guests this weekend like eggnog so I have to drink them both myself :P

Well I hope you eggnogers enjoy it!

  • I do think that is odd but the same thing happens with "Zehrs" and "The Real Canadian Superstore".  They are the same place but have different flyers and prices.

  • That would be really annoying!! Our Walmart isn't a supercenter, it has the grocery part but not everything grocery. You would think though that the prices would be the same, or that they would price match... you'd think they would have a copy of a grocery flyer just in case.. it is still Walmart afterall!

I see it as Zellers, Home Outfitters, The Bay. All owned by the same company but things offered at different prices.

  • funny you mention this, I was at the superstore walmart too this morning and had a conversation with a lady there who said the same thing about something she was buying...?
