Christmas gift for mail carrier?

Re: Christmas gift for mail carrier?

  • We try to give our regular carrier a little something, usually a bag of cookies or treats...but it really depends on if we have something ready, and if we catch her on her route a few days before Christmas or not.  We occasionally have a different carrier, so I don't like to leave a gift at the mailbox just in case it's not actually her delivering mail that day.  Our carrier is pretty friendly though, and will wave and say hi even when we see her through town...I don't think I'd feel the need to give a gift if I didn't feel like I "knew" her.

  • According to today's paper, no cash gifts for US postal service workers.  Food or gift cards (<$20) were recommended if you want to give them something.
