Re: ~*~Paula~*~

  • LOL, thanks.  She was a little stressed out (hence the big old tongue!)  She's scared of long flights of steps (like the basement flight at ILs - we have two shorter flights of ~6-7 steps in our split level and she tears up and down those like they're nothing.)  Our photographer's studio is in his basement... LOL... so Greg kind of dragged her down the steps.

Xena is even okay with the slightly longer staircase down our deck, but it's just indoors - she panics.  It's almost comical at ILs because they have a staircase leading downstairs to the basement in their living room.  So when you play fetch in the living room (REALY WIDE room), she crouches down and tucks her ears back if her ball goes within 10 feet of the staircase opening.

Do either of your GSDs freak at stairs?  I had someone else recently tell me his GSD was the same way around basement stairs, but can't recall who it was now...

  • When Denali was little he was scared to death of stairs.  Like, he would sit down and whimper when he had to go up or down them.  We have a short flight on our back deck (probably 6 steps) and he would sometimes go up two of them, then cry.

We broke him of that though.  MH would block the other exit off the deck and I would call to him at the bottom of the steps and he would come down them.  Now he acts like it's nothing.

Anya has never freaked at stairs, but she is afraid of ladybugs and acorns.  I can't explain it.
