My sister want told me she wants a new perfume for christmas, normally she wears Britney Spears whatever, that I usually get her, but she wants something different.
Any suggestions?
Re: What's your scent?
Here are some that I love:
Vera Wang's Princess
Juicy Couture
Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue
Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B.
How old is your sister?
Right now my favorites are Lancome Poeme, Dior J'Adore and CK Euphoria.
When I was younger I really like Tommy Girl.
My Blog!
I wear something from philosophy on a daily basis, because its pretty light as to not suffocate my cube-mate lol.
Otherwise, Chanel no. 5 all the way!
Philosophy Amazing Grace.
I'm not THRILLED with it, but DH loves it. So i wear it.
Scents are, to me, a dangerous thing to purchase. They're expensive, and you run the risk of the recipient not liking it. One year I had this jerk of a boyfriend who told my mom I wanted "Curve"--which I hated. As it turned out, it was his ex's favorite...too bad my mom didn't think about asking me first.
Has she mentioned liking anything in particular? Or do you know what over- and under-tones she prefers?
I'm looking for a new favorite scent right now. I asked for Philosophy's Pure Grace for Christmas because that smells so clean.
But I have always liked wearing Dolce's Light Blue, DKNY Be Delicious, and Lucky. Got a sample of J'dore and really liked that also.
You can get sampler sets from Sephora that have a number of scents, then you get a certificate in it where you can pick the one you like best & get a full bottle. That'd be a good gift idea!
Marc Jacobs Lola... its pretty new just came out in Oct right before my wedding, it was my day of scent. Its sultry and sexy smelling its supposed to be "Daisy's" older seductive sister.. haha
Or how about buying her a small pack with different ones like from VS that way she is bound to like one of them in there.
My every day is Marc Jacobs Daisy (I'm an MJ freak!). I also love D&G Light Blue (pretty safe, I'd say), Lolita Lemnicka, and Mathew Williamson's perfume Mathew Williamson (it is a clear bottle with pink details).
Philosophy Amazing Grace or Pure Grace might be good, too. They have a really clean smell.
Could you get her a gift certificate to Sephora or Ulta or something so she could pick out her own? (Disclaimer: not sure which stores you have out there!) I agree with Munkii, scents are really personal and there are some things (my friend gave me some Yves Saint Laurent Opium and I HATE it! Luckily she works in beauty PR so it didn't cost her anything - not that I told her I hated it!)
