Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

Everyone except for OP is talking about a knottie-turned-vendor. I'm pretty sure that OP doesn't know that the vendor used to be a knottie.

Re: Delete?

  • Yes.  Email Annie with the text from the entire thread and ask her what to do.  Since the Knottie-vendor was outed, she may need to be banned.  Your board will need to understand that they cannot connect the Knottie name to the vendor, or the account will be banned.  We have quite a few Knottie-vendors on my board, and everyone uses real names (though it becomes tough when the real name is basically their screenname) so the Knottie-vendor can still post as a Knottie.

  • Thanks for the advice, LittleSweetie.

For some reason, the girls on my board just don't get it. *sigh*

  • They will if it hits close to home :)  GL - not an easy one.

  • I responded on the thread... Do you think what I wrote might make it sink in a little more?

  • Yeah it will help - but the reference to the Knottie was made 5 hours ago, so I'm guessing a lot of others have already seen the connection.  You'll need to email Annie.  At the very least, the post with her name should be edited out - you can do this as a mod.  Just make it *** instead of the screenname.

  • You should also contact the Knottie-vendor and ask her to use a different email address for "business" that isn't related to her Knot name.  It'd be like someone saying, "Contact Angela - littlesweetie@gmail.com - she's a great photographer."  You can delete the post that has the email address as well, or maybe put "*** Censored By JB" or something...

Dumb question: how do I edit a post besides the OP? The "Edit" button at the top just edits the OP...

  • Good question!  I might be getting my mod controls mixed up - you're right, I think we can only edit the OP.  In that case, you may want to PM the two who need to edit their replies - that, or just delete the whole thing, your/Annie's call.
