Re: Just wondering...
I had always told DH I wanted to live on lots of land so I could have a John Deere tractor. Well on Christmas before we were even engaged, DH got me a gift that he informed me "Was exactly what I wanted". So on Christmas Eve he came over and we opened gifts. I got to the "exactly what I wanted gift" and with such excitment opened it very quickly only to find the most horrendous, tacky, down right ugly clock, yes a clock, with a John Deere tractor on it... oh and it lit up too.
Said Clock:

I can't believe I found a picture of it.
Needless to say it's still in a drawer at my parents house.
Other than that DH is pretty good at gift buying for me.
I thought the Paperbackswap gift card was a bit odd, but I use it. Hmm... nothing too odd. He swears he will never buy me any more jewelry cause one necklace I rarely wear-it's gold with emeralds (birthstone), but I rarely wear gold and do wear it whenever it matches my attire!... I do like it! I think he's wise to NOT buy me clothes other than socks.
Christmas ought to be interesting this year...
DH is a really good very thoughful gift giver.
The EX on the other hand was not.
Oooohhh I just remembered I got an egg shaped piece of jewelry one year for valentines day. It was clearly something that was being pushed for Easter I suppose. It was black and gold with diamonds on it and about an inch and a half tall.....dangling from a gold chain....that thing was awful!
it was like this....but the little one...
For my birthday a few years ago... Need I say more? It's in a box in our garage, and he won't let me get rid of it for whatever reason. When I opened it I honestly thought it was a joke, and he was completely serious.
We were at a friends apt and she had one . I said it was cute , she said she got it at Target. He went to arget and got it for me. The thing is in my Moms attic, lol.
Ok, my DH would totally LOVE that Deere clock. We have a JD clock in the kitchen that has a different engine sound for each hour - my son gave it to him.
Our first Christmas together, DH bought all my presents off the Matco tool truck, ON Christmas Eve, I believe. He bought a Matco Tshirt, Matco coffee mug (I don't drink coffee), and a pink pocket knife. I'm not exactly sure why I stayed with him after that, LOL!
