I just ordered a sparkly dress for New Years. This year we are throwing a party with my SIL. I had mostly forgot about is since Christmas has been my main focus...but it is just around the corner as well. Does anyone else have any fun New Years plans yet?
Re: New Years
No plans yet... some friends invited us to Chicago with them, but we aren't sure if we'll go or not (we should probably decide that soon though!)
We've never hosted, although I'm sure it would be fun. You should PIP your dress, I'd love to see what it looks like!
No plans yet. My friends from HS and their SOs have been going into Boston the last few years for First Night and they invite us, but DH and I aren't too keen about standing in the cold for hours. Last year we went in and had dinner with them and just walking from North Station to the restaurant which was less than 5 minutes away was torture (it was so cold last year!). I sent an email to my bff from college in CT to see what they're doing.
I feel like New Years should be a big party but we almost never end up doing anything super exciting.

We hosted a few years ago. Everyone stayed until about 6 a.m. it was so exhausting but fun! We went up to watch the harbor fireworks from the roof deck and my friend's boyfriend proposed to her under them and in front of all of us!
Anyhoo, no plans yet. We may go to a friend's house (very local so we wouldn't have to drive far, which I prefer) or we may go to a restaurant with live music and open bar downtown, but I will stay sober so we can get home!
Oh Lucky- I hope your baby gets better soon!
I'm sort of a grouch about New Years. I pretty much never have a good time and the last few years I've said I dont want to do anything then start to feel like all the plans sound really fun and I'll have a good time and then I'm majorly let down. It just feels like so much pressure for some reason haha. So this year I'm saying no to party & bar invites and hoping for the best!
DH has to work overnight, so a couple girl friends of mine are going to come over, we're going to go out for a nice dinner around the corner, and then back to my apartment where we are going to make dream boards and 101 Things to do Before I Die lists. Sort of unconventional but I think it sort of follows a New Years resolution theme. Hopefully without the stress of crowds and having to travel around I'll have an awesome time!
Yup! bender at our place, and it's prolly going to be the last one for a while...
not sure, but I hope it involves my own sparkly dress.
We always get together with one group of friends, all of whom either live in CT, or live in Boston but whose parents are in CT. We used to get together in Boston, last year it was in CT, and this year I offered to host a while back, but I'm not sure if people will want to drive so far.?
Right now we dont have any plans. We've gone to the cape to stay in my friends cape house for a party every year that DH and I didn't live in Los Angeles. This year all of our friends are kind of doing their own thing. I really wish DH and I could just chill at home just us but that will never happen, socialite that he is haha.
My dream is to spend Hogmany (British new years if you didn't know what that is) in Scotland. I've been telling DH this for years. Maybe some day it will be my Christmas present. A girl can dream
hmm...I just tried to PIP but was unsuccessful...
Bummer, dude. Thanks for trying though. I'm trying to rein in my shopping, so I was shopping vicariously through you!
