I hope, but honestly it depends on where they build it if they do. Like the article says, 30% of the people here are below the poverty level. At the high school I teach, 94% of the students live below the poverty level. Up in north Laredo everyone is very well off though. So if they build a B&N up there I think it would do great. Ugh, it's just sad. This town is just not into education at all.

there is something nastalgic about a bookstore, you definitely can't easily replicate that scent of new paper - I was such a nerd as a kid, I LOVED going to bookstores. especially if it was to buy the latest sweet valley high or babysitters club book.
Sad, but honestly not surprising.
