Hi all. I'm a Houston Nestie trying to plan a few small group dinners in downtown Dallas. I'm not too familiar with restaurants but wanted to see if I could get your opinions. I'm looking for 10-12 restaurants downtown for groups of 6-7 people.
The restaurants they visited in 2008 were Al Biernat's, Sambuca, Strongs, Nick & Sam's, Dallas Fish Market, Dakota's, Perry's, Stephan Pyles, Arcodoro/Pomodoro, Capital Grille, Truluck's, Dragonfly, Bolla and Palomino.
I can repeat some but not all of them. I had looked on CitySearch to find Nobu, Fearings and Fuse. Do you have any other recommendations that we should try? Thanks for your help!

wow, that's an impressive list! I'm jealous.
Check out yelp.com for restaurant reviews and you'll find a ton of stuff.
You might check out Neighborhood Services or Victor Tangos (both are a little different, but really good!) or Abacus or Hibiscus.
The recs given by pp are what I was going to recommend but here are a couple of others a little outside of your requirements:
Loft 610 - it is more casual and in Plano but the chef is Tre Wilcox from top chef
The Porch - again more casual but still great food
Maximos - fine dining mexican food in Addison
Chamberlain's fish market -also in addison
Craft - did someone say this already? it is Tom Colicchio's restaurant
Trader Vic's - also not fine dining but nice and tasty
The Grape
How "downtown" are we talking about? Because some of the restaurants on your list aren't even downtown. How far away from the city center do you want to go?
I might add Cowboy Chow in Deep Ellum if I were you - it's more casual than the others you mentioned, but a lot of fun and very tasty.
Charlie Palmers is good

I love the Old Warsaw!

Ditto on Cowboy Chow. We went to the Roanoke location for dinner tonight and I can't stop thinking about how awesome my brisket tacos were.
Not sure how downtown you want to be but we like:
The Old Warsaw
Bob's Steak & Chop House
The Restaurant at the Mansion on Turtle Creek
Campisi's is also a Dallas classic which we love but is less formal
We LOVE Medina! http://www.medinadallas.com/
Sam, the owner, is a wonderful guy and the food is to die for!
2 restaurants that I have recently tried and LOVE are Bijoux (very $$$) and Hattie's (gourmet southern food).
How could I forget Tillmans!
