If you send a gift online...

... can you send it anonymously?

Like if I order something from, say, Target, can I have it sent as a gift to another address, without them getting my name & info on the shipping receipt? and prices?

I'd like to send something to a needy famly that I know of, but I'd really like it to be anonymous.

TIA!

Re: If you send a gift online...

  • I think it depends on the company.  I've done it before and there was nothing in there to say who it was from and other times there is a receipt.  Maybe you can call customer service and ask.

  • I would think that the system would track it automatically...but then, the only time I've done this is for wedding registries, and in those cases the recipients want to know who sent the gift.

Is it something you could buy at Target locally and ship yourself? It's less convenient, but that way you don't have to put a return address (and you should still be able to track it to make sure it arrives).
