Churchill Downs (home of the Kentucky Derby) is hosting a three day music festival called Hullabalou July 23 - 25. Sounds like a lot of fun - and I adore outdoor concerts. Just thought I'd pass along in case any of you were close enough and were interested in attending!

LOL - i'm not buying my tix for Michael McDonald per se, but I do love DMB, and Bon Jovi and The Black Crowes and Colby Callait...basically, I'm game for any outdoor concert, really.

DH and I have tickets to DMB on Sunday so far and will likely be buying tickets for Friday for Bon Jovi and others as well. I'm so excited for this!

me, too! i think DH and I are going to bite the bullet and get the three day general admission tickets. i've seen DMB a thousand times, and while i'm excited about it, i don't feel the need to get the seated tickets. i'm pretty pumped about it, though. i went to the rolling stones concert at the Downs a few years ago and it was awesome. I love that they're having more events there.

I've definitely had my share of outdoor concerts. I more or less died at Bonnaroo a couple of summers ago. I'd definitely make the trek for Dave Matthews though.

I actually work for CD and we were able to buy 1 night reserved tickets in advance so we got them for DMB because DH loves him. We've seen him several times as well but he really wanted to go. We'll probably just get general admission tickets for Fri/Sat unless I find out that I can just get in - that's still unclear. Either way, I plan to be there pretty much all weekend.

David: I don't care. Anything. I would rather... I would rather watch "Beautician and the Beast". I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothing against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, I'm going to "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground.

I'm SO in, and since DMB is playing I won't even have to promise sexual favors to get Alex to agree-- sweet! Sam- I call a bedroom at chez Jones that weekend.

I totally can talk DH into this. He loves DMB, and has seen them a few times a couple years ago. I think he is due.

Ohhh! I'm about 4-4.5 hrs away! Going to talk to H about it and see if he would be up for it...so many of my fave (and his fave) people will be there!
