Confession...

I just went a little overboard on MH's Christmas presents.

I bought him a new gun (for hunting).  And I was sitting here thinking "Well, he probably would need a scope for that gun..." SO I went into his internet bookmarks on his computer to find out the kind of scope he's been looking at.  And I just ordered him a scope that costs almost as much as the gun did (seriously, within $10).

He is not getting anything else for Christmas.  Seriously.

  • sometimes it's nice to buy them things they have been eyeing but normally wouldn't buy on their own.  Nothing wrong with that.

  • Ha - MH and I haven't even bought Christmas presents for ourselves/one another yet.  Haven't even researched what exactly to get.
  • Thats ok, if you can why not? I tend to go overboard when shopping for my husband too, he doesn't buy himself a lot during the year so there are always tons of things I think he needs or would want. This will probably be the last year of that though lol.

Thanks Mel.  That does make me feel better.  He even told me a few months ago how he just wishes he could and get a scope (for another gun) but he didn't think he should spend the money.  He'll be really surprised on Christmas.

  • Nothing wrong with surprising YH with something extra that he'll like. MH rarely buys himself anything during the year so I always spend a little extra on things for him at Christmas.

  • It is so easy to overspend on MH at Christmas.  I was going to do a little more shopping this weekend but now with this snow I'm probably not going to be able to and I told myself I've spent enough there's no need to spend anymore and I'm not going to fight the crowds next week.

I also understand exactly how easy it is to spend money on things related to hunting/fishing/other outdoor sports.  Derick's fishing equipment is soooo expensive!
