I need someone to agree with me...

I *really* don't want to go to my BFF's annual holiday party at her mom's house tomorrow night. It's in London, and I would be driving there after work (almost 2 hr drive). ?I'd have to find someplace to leave the dogs, get dressed up/do my hair and stay the night... then drive back in the morning.OR, I could stay home/go out with my in-town girlfriend.??I saw 4/5 of my best girlfriends last weekend, when I went to the same friend's OTHER holiday party, also out of town (but in Toronto, not at her mom's). ?It's not that I don't love my girlfriends, I just would rather stay home, KWIM???The rest of the party goers are just casual acquaintances.I don't have the desire to drive on the hwy. or be social these days. ?Is it okay to skip this year? ??

  • Totally okay. I told my students that I was thinking of buying a bobble head so I'd have someone that always agrees with me. That might be a good option for you too. Big Smile

  • Skip it and don't feel guilty, you live 2 hours away! And isn't there supposed to be snow tomorrow night?
  • It's "a-ok" to skip it. Even if it wasn't 2 hrs away, even if you didn't have to get a dog sitter, even if you didn't have to find a crash pad...it would be ok to miss it if you didn't feel like going.

  • I feel like a huge weight has been lifted since I decided not to go. ?I am sorry that I'm ditching them, but I am really glad to not be going. ?It's more effort than I can spare these days. ?:(

    I'm sorry to hear that.

That said, real friends understand.  I had one of those years last year and my true friends understood that I just couldn't do everything I normally did.  And if they don't, you have puppy kisses :)

  • I think there is going to be snow and the highways in that area are redonk. So stay in town and have fun!!
