I need someone to agree with me...
I *really* don't want to go to my BFF's annual holiday party at her mom's house tomorrow night. It's in London, and I would be driving there after work (almost 2 hr drive). ?I'd have to find someplace to leave the dogs, get dressed up/do my hair and stay the night... then drive back in the morning.OR, I could stay home/go out with my in-town girlfriend.??I saw 4/5 of my best girlfriends last weekend, when I went to the same friend's OTHER holiday party, also out of town (but in Toronto, not at her mom's). ?It's not that I don't love my girlfriends, I just would rather stay home, KWIM???The rest of the party goers are just casual acquaintances.I don't have the desire to drive on the hwy. or be social these days. ?Is it okay to skip this year? ??
Re: I need someone to agree with me...
It's "a-ok" to skip it. Even if it wasn't 2 hrs away, even if you didn't have to get a dog sitter, even if you didn't have to find a crash pad...it would be ok to miss it if you didn't feel like going.
I'm sorry to hear that.
That said, real friends understand. I had one of those years last year and my true friends understood that I just couldn't do everything I normally did. And if they don't, you have puppy kisses
