Re: proff that the "Jeresy Shore" kids aren't from Jersey

  • During the first episode, they showed where they were from, and I think only 1 or 2 were from NJ, the rest were from NY.

Would a North NJ person know Pat's or Geno's anyway?

  • "The Situation" grew up in central Jersey.  I have a friend that graduated HS the year after him.

  • I watched half an episode and I couldn't watch any more. They have accents from NNJ/NY. That show should be called the guido's and guidette. i think the one girl even reffered to herself as a guidette. Sorry for the spelling i don't even think it's a real word.

I read somewhere that it originally was going to be called "guido beach" but that was deemed offensive.   LOL

Maybe "the situation" moved to NJ when he was older?  The MTV site says he is from Staten island (http://www.mtv.com/shows/jersey_shore/cast.jhtml ) Totally not disputing pp who said that her friend when to hs with him in NJ...I guess I just dont want NJ to be associated with the ridiculousness that is the situation.

Did you see tonight is the show where snookie gets sucker punched???

Apparently, there are Italian-American groups that are offended by their use of guido and guidette. I always thought they were derogatory terms til I saw their proud usage.

I also read that they're not no longer airing the scene where she gets punched

  • I think the situation moved out of NJ to Staten Island. He grew up in Manalapan. Sadly.
