Kauai Recs... for a Mama-to-Be
DH and I are headed back to Kauai for a 4-day getaway in early January. It's our last vacation before baby arrives in March.
When we were there for our anniversary in July, we hiked part of the Kalalau trail, did the waterfall hike in Waimea, and went speed rafting along the Na Pali.
This time, though, I'll need to scale it back a little. I would still like to hike, sight-see, and be outdoorsy, but nothing too ridiculously strenuous. Any ideas for pregnancy-friendly hikes/sites/beaches/activities?

I love Kauai because it's so laid back. When we went, we just enjoyed driving around the island, using our blue book to find different 'secret' beaches. The most memorable beach we visited was Larsen's Beach, which was a really beautiful beach that was off the beaten path and accesible via a short hike through a dirt path strewn with tons of cow patties. We also discovered that people (um, especially the guys...) seem to like to use it as a nude beach because it's so secluded.
Although we haven't visited any of the botanical gardens, next time we go to Kauai it's something that I'd love to do. I'd also love to kayak Wailua River. You could get a tandem kayak and let your H take over the paddling if you get tired or if it's too strenuous for you.
