Poll: If you could peek at your Xmas gift...

Re: Poll: If you could peek at your Xmas gift...

  • no, not this year...but DH said he had a great idea for what to give me for giving birth...(and he came to this idea while out at happy hour with co-workers) so THAT gift I'd like to see...LOL

  • Well I already know what my "main" gift is because DH and I had to discuss it (he got me a Canon Rebel xsi...he knew I wanted a rebel but didn't know what model!) But last night a UPS man delivered a package and DH snatched it up and when I went to look he scolded me! lol!

And I don't want to know what that is because I'd love a surprise!!! Just the fact he got me something other then the camera is a surprise in and of itself! I was shocked!

  • I have looked in the past and it's never as exciting Christmas morning. Plus I always feel guilty. So I have been very good this year about not looking for clues or the actual gift. No looking for me!

  • I LOVE my DH (he is an amazing husband and even better father)...but he SUCKS at gift giving!! As in - "I was too busy...I didn't want to spend a lot of money"..blah blah blah. He usually just buys something for me that I pick out or runs out Xmas eve when I would just rather him be at home at that point. So we have had serious discussions on how it is the thought that counts and that I seriously don't care if he gets me a $.99 card - as long as he takes the time to pick it out and write something meaningful in it.

This year he already has a couple gifts purchased! And just the fact that he is thinking about me is a gift!!! Even if it took some major training...I feel like I am getting a Christmas miracle!

Oh, and if he told me that my present was in this drawer....I can't say 100% that I wouldn't look....but I hope that I wouldn't. Actually - I know one of my gifts is in his trunk right now (he took my car to work) but I'm not sure if I don't want to peek because I would ruin the surprise OR it's just too cold out.

  • I did as a kid because I'd get hives in anticipation and that relieved my hives lol.

As an adult I'd prefer to not know and be surprised.

  • Nope, I was never a peeker.  I like to be surprised.

Generally, I am not nosey.  Like if there is a car pulled over, I don't look, I just keep driving.

  • This is a tough ?! I love being surprised IF I don't know that you plan to surprise me...like DH will say, I have a surprise for you in a few weeks...that kills me. BUT if he never brought it up until he gave it to me, that would be awesome! So if I would truly be surprised, I would like to be!

  • No.  And I'm so bummed - I accidentally found mine last night!

I was feeling really stiff after work, so I took a hot shower and then went in the guest room to do some yoga behind a closed door - i.e. without Guinness climbing all over me.  Alas, my present was under the bed, not wrapped.  I saw it when I was on the floor.

I'm so bummed it's not a surprise.  It isn't a total shock, because it was on my Christmas list, but still.  Oh well.

  • I liked to be surprised when it comes to presents.  Some of my presents from my parents I know b/c I was with them when they got them and they were going to save them for Christmas.  They still always manage to surprise me.  DH does an awesome job xmas shopping so I am really excited when I see presents under the tree from him.  This year he had my presents delivered to his parents house so I am really wondering what he got me.
  • Never, ever- not even as a child (it made me mad when my sisters would look or tell me what I was getting.) Until I open it- that gift can be whatever I can imagine, and if wrapped- it can be anything I can imagine that would fit in that box. I LOVE the waiting.
