Ok, so my manager is treatign my coworker and I to dinner tonight. We are the onlt employees under him and he said he wanted to treat us because this may be out last xmas together. Most likely we will all be taking on n ew roles in the new year, no layoffs.
Anyway, it is a really nice & pricey restaurant. I planned to get him a bottom of Dom perignon this weekend as a 'thank you'. He is very into "luxury" items and I wuold get it wholesale anyway (my dad owns a restaurant.).
Ok, so the problem is that today when I came in, he left a huge display of gifts for the 2 of us. It was a canvas bag & ornament, a botte of moet, some scratchoffs, and a porcelin mug with silicone cap from MOMA.
Now, what do I get him as a "THANK YOU!" Weve never done gifts at work so I was totally suprised by this. I planned the champagne but feel silly giving the chamagne now that I got a bottle from him.
Re: Gift Question about Boss
I've got more issues than a magazine
Last year dh's employees gave him a bottle of Opus One wine. A little different than the bottle of Dom, but in the same category.
I am normally a champagne lover, but that was the best bottle of wine, ever.
