Tell me your father/daughter dance song...
Or your parent dance song. My little sister is getting married Saturday and she still can't decide. Father/daughter and mother/son dance is all together. TIA!
Ps. For you all of you who miss the "wedding moments" wouldn't if you were here now. All the stressful memories of our wedding are coming rushing back. Weird how you forget those. I don't envy her one bit!

FWIW, DH's mom and he danced to "I hope you Dance" or whatever the real name of the song is by Martina McBride.
We didn't do a father/daughter dance mainly because my son was teething and wanted to be around me at all times. But it would have been to My Girl by The Temptations.?
Mother/Son dance was Sunrise, Sunset
Father/Daughter dance started as Unforgettable, but after a verse, the band switched to All Shook Up and my dad and I started swing dancing. It was fun.

Our F/D dance was "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw but that wouldn't exactly work for a combined dance.
DH and his mom danced to "In My Life" by the Beatles and that might work for your sister.
Mine was I loved her first. Now that I'm not on speaking terms with my father, I can't effing stand the song. And it constantly plays on my pandora. So. Keep that in mind.
That being said, B's cousin and her dad danced to My Wish by Rascal Flatts with her H dancing with their daughter (his mom passed away) at the same time. It was adorable. Not a dry eye in the house.
Dad and I danced to My Wish by Rascal Flats. I can't remember at all what DH and his mom danced to...

I let my dad pick, and he chose My Little Girl. I wanted Little Miss Magic.
DH and his mom danced to I Had to Say I Loved You in a Song, Jim Croce.

my dad and I danced to My Girl by the temptations.
DH and his mom danced to You lift me up (or something like that) by Josh Grobin. he didn't realize until they were on the dance floor that its a super long song
My dad and I danced to Lullabye (Goodnight my Angel) by Billy Joel.
It is the song my dad danced me to sleep to when I was little. My dad is a lot older than most (he's in his mid-70s), and the lyrics to that song make me tear up just thinking about them. As if that isn't awesome enough, the whole song is piano and vocal. My husband played the piano and his best friend sang as a surprise for my dad. Not a dry eye in the room.
Alex and his mum danced to Just the Way You Are, which, funnily enough is also a Billy Joel song. But my dad and I were a tough act to follow...
I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

This sounds amazing!! I love that Alex plays piano.
Just the Way You Are was my parents wedding song.?
The Way You Look Tonight - Frank Sinatra. I suggested it b/c its my favorite Sinatra song, and my dad was all over it!
My father and I danced to The Way You Look Tonight--the song from Father of the Bride. It's just always spoken to me as a wedding song, and when DH wouldn't dance with me for it, I used it for Dad.
DH and I danced to "To Make You Feel My Love" to keep the Billy Joel theme of this thread going.
If you can convince him to play (he's not a bragger, that is my job haha), it is pretty awesome. He was a classical and jazz music major at Harvard and he has more talent in his pinky finger than I have in my whole body. It is borderline annoying.
When you come to NYC, you'll see how serious he is about music. His baby grand piano takes up half of my living room!

I actually let my dad pick. He agonized over it for months and months. He finally picked a song that he was set on, but nixed it when he found out it was the father/daughter dance song from Father of the Bride. What a snob
We ended up dancing to "Your Mother Should Know," by the Beatles and it was hilarious. I'll try to PIP.
DH and his mom danced to You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban. She's a huge Groban fan and was floored.

We did father/daughter and mother/son at the same time. We did Stand By Me- Ben E. King
i used this song too but didnt realize it was used in FOTB. I haven't seen that movie in like 10 years.
Father/Daughter was "You're My Hero" by Theresa James, but if I would have been thinking I would have picked "Brown-Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison. My Dad and I dance to that one all the time!
Mother/Son was "Forever Young" I think it is by Rod Stewart.
It's used in the beginning and in the end at the wedding. It always hits me as "wedding" because of that movie. Such a good father/daughter dance!
I love that song! That's very sweet. My dad and I danced to "Jesus, etc." by Wilco (Dad picked it). We did the fox trot. DH's mom didn't want to dance, but once she heard the song she said "I didn't know we could pick songs like that! I would have danced if I knew" because it's not a weepy, slow-paced song.
