Okay, I used to live in Hawaii while I was in High School. Brother stayed there and now has a wife and 2 kids. DH has never been to Hawaii so we booked a trip in March. I used Orbitz to do the flight, hotel, and car (their apt is too small to stay with them). I booked a stay at Aqua Waikiki Wave and I know it's in the right in the middle of Waikiki and I didn't bother to check reviews. Anyways, I'm not getting a lot of positive feedback about it now. We aren't big partiers but noise generally doesn't bother me. Is it crazy party central in that area???
It was a cheaper hotel (I know, you get what you paid for lol) and we don't plan on being there too much, but I also don't want to be in a questionable place for a week...I have to sleep sometime...
Any advice would be fantastic (I can't change it now lol, I just need to know what to look forward to).
Re: TX Nestie Needing Some Advice
i don't think it's that bad. when we had come on vacation before we heard the outrigger was loud as well...we had zero problems.
we live in waikiki and before moving had read that its so loud, etc. but we love it.
Sometimes I'm not sure what people expect when they visit a city...complete silence?
The Wave is not on the main strip in Waikiki, it's right off of it, so you may hear some traffic I don't think it will be so bad.
We really like Aqua properties, we usually stay in one when we visit (we like the Aqua Palms & Spa). They've got great free amenities like free continental breakfast and free wi-fi, gotta love free
The staff at every Aqua (we haven't stayed at the Wave yet) is very nice accommodating...if you feel that your room is too loud then ask them to move. My one tip would be to make sure you get a room with a bathtub if you are traveling w/DC, not all units have bathtubs.
Have a blast!
