sorta freaked out, re: internet privacy

Ok, so I'm working with a new photographer next month and my boss said that he (photographer) googled him beforehand.  So I googled myself to see what was out there.  I do this from time to time just to make sure there's nothing out there that I don't want out there... this time I found a lot more.  I found a list of who I was related to, aliases (including the wrong middle initial from my title company), email addresses, past physical addresses, and of course my social networking profiles (FB and twitter are protected, but LinkedIn was easily viewable of course).  And then any website where my name is mentioned (there aren't that many of those).  I'm just glad that the Nest posts aren't on there otherwise I'd be REALLY freaked out.  I just have an icky feeling about having all that info out there... but what can anyone really do?  Some of that info is public information I guess, but I still don't like it...

Re: sorta freaked out, re: internet privacy

  • If you google your screen name, you just might find Nest posts. I know I have found TK posts when googling my screen name before. It is scary.  At work, to help us locate dead beat parents, they told us to use the site 123people.com and it is scary how much info they pull up.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.
My Bio (wedding pics added 7/6)
    My 101
    Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • Whoah. 123people.com found my Amazon wish list! That's creepy. And it did find two pictures of me Sad
  • the 123people is mainly what I was talking about.  Do not like that one bit.

And I googled my screen name once to see what Nest posts came up.  Not everything I ever posted came up, but enough.
