Re: WTF news story

  • '"Kids do things like this and it's out of your control, you can do the best you can as a mother, everyone makes mistakes, it was an honest mistake," she said.'

    Um, no.

  • My favorite line has to be: Once out, Wright says her four year old followed his father's footsteps and was found on Blue Spruce Road, drinking.

Seriously, WTF? He drank beer, put on a dress and stole gifts in the middle of the night? Parenting fail!

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • I'm probably going to hell for this, but the thought of a little four-year-old boy walking down the street drinking a can of beer and wearing a girls dress is hilarious to me. I mean, the situation is not, especially "doing bad things to go to jail like Daddy."

Yeah I'm not buying that BS either. Your kid is four effing years old. You should know where is he is and what he's doing. I'm pretty sure he didn't break out the beer and get drunk while you ran into the bathroom to pee.

  • Actually, she was sleeping...1:45 in the morning. I have heard of Houdini-like children who can get out of any room/locked door presented with. Those parents usually make pretty big efforts, though, like locking them in their room (even though it's a fire hazard).  Either way, when your child is troubled, you take extra precautions.

DH was like this when he was little, sort of.  He would wake up in the middle of the night and hang out and do stuff, wandering around the house.  Once he almost burned it down trying to make toast.  It was suggested to MIL to lock him in his room, but she refused to do it.  I actually don't know what she decided to do, but somehow he never ended up drinking and stealing the neighbor's presents, so she must have done something.

I'll admit, the image this conjured up is pretty funny...even though the situation is altogether sad.  I'll meet you in hell.

  • Kind of hilarious...love that it is a cross-dressing, drunk 4 yr old...

Sad that he wants to go to jail because that's where his dad is.

  • I feel bad for the mother. If he's troubled enough to be doing things like this now, I can only imagine what he'll be doing when he's older.  From the things she was quoted as saying, it seems like she's trying to be a good mom. Poor kid has a deadbeat dad though. That's a tough battle to fight.
