TMI question re: Brazilians

Never had one before.

If I get one done in the morning, will I be ready for "action" that night? Say 8-10 hrs later?

Most things that I've seen suggest a 24 hr wait, but I'm trying to surprise DH on our next date night, and I won't have a 24 hr window between the two.

TIA!

  • I love questions like this because I always want to ask them but I am always too nervous!!  Smile

I would say it depends on your skin. If you have sensitive skin I would definately say NO, but if your skin heals pretty quickly from waxing then you may be ok, but definately the longer you can wait the better!

I have only had a brazilian one time and it was a long time ago and I waited a few days before any action occured. One thing I can say though, and it was learned the PAINFUL way... stay away from the beach...in particular Salt Water.... yeah, it still hurts to think about it!

  • I'm to chicken to even trim things up :wimper: All I can say is thank god for bathing suits with skirts!

Oh, and part of the reason I'm hesitant is that I don't look like a Victoria's Secret model & I don't want to let the salon people see my pudge.  Guess I should just get over it huh?

  • You might be a little red and swollen, especially if it's your first one.  Make sure you go to someone who knows what they're doing and it'll be fast and less painful.  I used to go to Jane at Hyde Park Beauty First.  Pop an advil about 30 minutes before you go to help with the pain and swelling.

REALLY!?!?!?!!?!?!?!  I'm intrigued!  I couldn't STAND to not have it - at the very least - "trimmed"

  • I have very sensitive skin.  Even shaving my legs gives me bumps, rashes, & ingrown hairs.  The few times I've tried to shave, nair, whatever my bikini line I end up red, itchy, and painful for days.  I figure that dh is the only person who might see my lady bits and he doesn't seem to care.  Plus I didn't even need to worry about my bikini line until I turned 30.  Now I'm turning into a hairy old lady, sniff-sniff.

  • I would definitely recommend NOT doing the deed within 24 hours of having a wax in the Netherlands - especially if it is your first time getting a brazilian. You don't know how your skin will react, and you will probably be very sore. And, according to my gyno, the wax can make small little tears in your skin, opening you up to all kinds of infection if you're doing the ol' bump & grind. My advice: wait til the next date night, and make sure there's at least 24-48 hours for your little lady to recover. Good luck! :)
