And she's not even here yet.
I called her an hour ago to see how far out they were. I asked if she got a Christmas card from my grandmother, because I got one today that said "Just a short note, don't have much will to live." (yeah, Merry Christmas, Grandma) She replied "Oh, she's in the hospital" and then proceeds to tell me that my uncle's girlfriend called her last night, my grandmother had been "asleep" all day and when they checked on her she was slurring her words. Mom told them to take her to the ER, she probably had a stroke. that's the last she's heard.
She said she didn't want to tell me until she got here. I think she should have called me last night.
Anyway, prayers for my grandmother - that she's not in pain. If this is her time, then so be it.
Re: This visit's off to a great start
My mother has taken the girls to the hotel. Turns out she is pissed off that my uncle (who my grandmother lives with now in Georgia) didn't get her Power of Attorney, DNR, etc, transferred to him. So should the decision need to be made to "pull the plug" my mom has to do it - and she's pissed. She's not upset that her mother may be dying, just pissed off that she has to be responsible.
For the record, the uncle she's living with is her step son, I honestly think my mom should be the one to make that decision anyway. Ugh.
That sux. Goodwill vibes to your whole kit and kaboodle. Who needs this now?
