Has anyone seen David Sedaris' "Santaland Diaries"?

We went to go see it tonight. I have thoughts...

Re: Has anyone seen David Sedaris' "Santaland Diaries"?

  • I haven't seen the local production, but I've seen it twice before.

Ok, so I loved the Santaland Diaries. But I hated "Seasons Greetings" (1994: The Dunbar Residence) My husband bought the tickets, not knowing about the second half. Well, "Seasons Greetings" is about a woman having a nervous breakdown who kills a baby by putting her in the washer/dryer. Btw, the woman is played by a man.

I read that it's not unusual to perform the pieces back 2 back. It was a horrible way to end the night

  • I have not seen the Santa land diaries, but I have read "holidays on Ice" and the "santa land diaries" is part of that book. I would have to say that the second half you are describing does not go will with anything David Sedaris has ever written. Way to bring down a completely hilarious night!
