that i am going to have to have my gallbladder removed. the sooner, the better according to the ER doctor last night.

i have a 3 cm gallstone in my tiny little gallbladder and while there is no infection or inflammation and my liver and pancreas functions are fine, they are concerned that the gallstones will keep on coming back, so the gallbladder's gotta go....

i have a consultation at the surgeon's office on tuesday morning.. i'll keep you guys posted!

Re: some of you have seen on FB

  • I saw that you were in the ER last night (although I saw it this morning) I'm glad you're home now and that you're going to get this all taken care of! I had a friend have hers taken out just this week and she went to class the day after her surgery! (but I always did think she was a tad crazy lol!) Hope you get to feelin better soon!
  • I hope everything goes well. I had mine out about 3 years ago now for the same reason. It's a pretty easy surgery and recovery isn't to bad either. But it's an adjustment that's for sure for about a year I couldn't eat certain things.
  • oh no!  i'm sorry to hear it, but i hope that the surgery and recovery are safe and speedy!  good luck!
  • I was wondering what happened. Honestly, I am glad to hear that this is what it is and not something more serious. My mother and my boss both recently had there's removed and both said it was the best decision they made. They felt so much better afterwards!

    Good Luck Bethie!

  • I saw on FB too... and as I mentioned, I had mine out this summer. Mine was (apparently) inflamed though- they didn't know until the surgery. The best advice I can give you is (if you are having lapro. surgery) to walk as much as you can afterward. I don't want to get into gross details but it helps alleviate the pressure from air in your stomach.

I hope it is over & done with for you quickly, Bethie!! Rest up!
