Judgy

I just saw an album of my cousin's trip to NYC with a group of girls. Where did they have dinner?

TGI effing Fridays.

In NYC???

Admittedly, I like chains, and if we don't have any good recommendations of great local restaurants, we gravitate to chains more often than not.... but NYC? Seriously???

/rant over.

Re: Judgy

  • ha, I've been there.  But there's good reason - we went around Christmas two years ago and EVERYTHING was packed, and it was like 25 below zero, so we just went in there because we didn't have to wait.

Nah, your excuse is valid. I wouldn't assume it was the same circumstances for this cousin. They look like the type to shun anything but things they recognize.

p.s You still have newb nest status? This saddens me. I shake my fist angrily at your employer!

  • That's funny! I admit I would be somewhat judgmental of that as well.

And especially because it was TGIF. I am sorry but TGIF sucks everywhere!!!!!

PS-Apparently I am silver now? how and when did that happen?!!?

  • Congrats on the silver status!  I'm sure yours comes from your F&B guru status. :)

  • I didn't even notice that! I guess you have to have 2000 posts to be silver? Wow. Didn't realize I had that kind of time! Sort of pathetic really.

But honestly, I think Applebee's and TGIF are probably the worst restaurants there are. I could understand if it was Outback or Margaritaville or somewhere good and fun like that. I tend to be a nice person, but I would am on the same boat with you on judging that one.

  • My parents and I ate at Hard Rock when we were there because it was one of the only affordable places we found. Being a chain, there prices were the same as in Austin.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • Do you guys ever read "Found?"  I absolutely love it.  Anyway, one of the things that was found was this woman's diary of her honeymoon that someone found wedged in their seat on an airplane.  But it talks about how this couple went on their honeymoon to Hawaii, they'd never been anywhere that far before, and all they did was eat at the same chain restaurant for practially every meal they were there for the whole trip (which was like five days or something).  That is the definition of sad to me.  Hawaii??  They have got to have more interesting food than hamburgers!
