My FIL's birthday was last week and my DH and I are taking him and his girlfriend out for dinner tomorrow night. DH got us a reservation at Bella Luna. He said he read some great reviews and to that I said you may have done that but i am asking my girls on the nest! He just gave me a funny look and here i am asking you! How is the food? Is it dressy? What food would you suggest? Thanks ladies!!!!
Re: Bella Luna
My H & I LOVE it there!!! It's one of our date places when we feel like splurging a little. You'll feel comfortable if you dress up a little, but not like prom. A nice top and slacks (or even jeans with dressy shoes).
I am a big fan of the ravioli with pumpkin cream sauce. And I don't like you anymore for making me think of it when I'm trying to be really good with my diet right now.
Ummmm, pumpkin cream sauce....
I am just so so on it. I have had to send my meal back a couple of times. Once was because the garlic in the sauce was burnt. I didn't even have to taste it, I could smell it...I will say I have not had such a bad experience that I wouldn't go back.
WIth that being said, my sister went for restaurant week and said it was amazing. They were debuting a new menu. Every one really liked their meals.
I JUST got home from Bella Luna. How funny is that? It was my first time and I thought it was wonderful! I had the pork tenderloin. It was delish but I would recommend something off the seasonal menu. There were so many items that looked good on the menu, you'll be fine either way. They also bring you complimentary focaccia bread with this garlic, herb, butter sauce. Also, delish. You can order a trio of wines. It is three small glasses of wine, they compliment each other, and it's served in an cute wine holder.
My husband had the holiday special, seafood risotto . He really enjoyed it. The dress is casual...jeans & cute top, and you're good to go. They had a live band when we first arrived. If you're into that, then no worries, but if you find live music disruptive, you might want to call first so you're prepared.
Btw, restaurant.com sells discounted gift certificates for BL. It's sold out right now, but they typically refresh at the start of the month....so if you like it tomorrow, think about the gf next time around. The best part is you can print them out!
Hope this helps.
We really like Bella Luna. And they have really nice brunch buffets for Easter, Mother's Day, etc ... my DH still talks about Easter there (probably because he stuffed himself with endless meatballs!!)
