The radio did a bit on the lamest gifts received from a significant other, and it got me wondering...What's yours? Who is it from?
My ex-bf bought a Tiffany-style imposter from ebay and tried to pass it off as real. This year, DH wanted to get me gift certficates to get my car cleaned inside and out. Practical, but BORING!

Re: Lamest Gifts
hmmmm I have been pretty lucky in the grand scheme of presents. however i did have this aunt who would give me theses really scary accessories for Christmas every year. Feigning excitement was hard because I wanted to laugh at some of the things I opened. lol.
my dad bought my mom a dustpan and broom for an anniversary gift one year. seriously. no joke. he has never lived it down.
oh D! LOL...he is pretty cute though.
See I asked for car wash gift certificates (and then proceeded to win them in a contest). I want practical gifts. I seem to get junk that clutters my house even more than it already is and I hate that. I wind up giving lots of stuff to good will that's brand new and I hate that it's a waste of money but why get something I don't really need/want.
I got a turtleneck once from a BF. It was 3 sizes too big for me. It was supposed to go under a football jersey and I know it's the thought that counts but the least he could have done was get the right size lol.
I got a blanket yesterday as a gift. Not sure what I'll do with it since I have a zillion blankets already - including 2 that are exactly like it, color, size, texture, etc.
The worst gift giver in my family is my uncle. He doesn't have a lot of money so we don't really want him buying for us in the first place. Plus he is of the idea that because he gives a gift no matter how ugly, big, etc it is we should love it and wear it.
I have finally gotten to the point where I can ask him where he purchased it because it is just too big on me and I would rather use his gifts than give them away. I can only imagine what I will get this year from him.
My MIL regifted something - a bottle of lotion shaped like a snowman - she missed the little tag on it that said "To: [MIL's name]" From [co-worker]
My aunt (inlaw) gives people sets of ugly mugs every year.. not thinking that perhaps we all have sets that came with our dishes. Like random mugs with John Deere pictures on them, and every year. Or random pieces of Longaberger stuff, which is not cheap, but then I have a random Longaberger mug or serving dish that is very country (like plaid), that is totally not our style, we can't use, and doesn't match the stuff we have.
Also the inlaws got me a big ugly turtleneck sweater thing, and the aunt bragged that it matched the one she was wearing.. I can't say I was in love with something that a 60yo woman thought was fashionable! Oh - and I was 8 mos preg when she got it for me.

I have a family member that is usually pretty bad every year... one year she actually got me a karma sutra (sp?) book! And this is an older aunt..lol. I don't even think she knew what it was. Made me laugh!
