DH and i were just saying last night that we had a nice, stretched out weekend. That rarely happens!!
Fri night; dinner in the W. Village. We couldn't find Monte's Trattoria (neither of us wrote the address down but i thought i knew the cross streets...) so we ended up at Ciao wine bar/restaurant. It was yummy!! Then off to the Nutcracker. And...um...i was wholly disappointed.
I didn't do my research so i think this Joffrey Ballet School isn't what i thought it was. It reminded me a lot of my dance company back in NM, but i like to think that we're way better!! Yes, it was teenagers and i tried to keep that in mind...but the dancing was pretty bad, their costumes were awful, some of the story didn't make sense (and i KNOW Nutcracker!!), there were too many people on stage and they completely wasted their music with bad or non-existent choreography.
And now i think that we paid too much for the tix.
Sat; slept late, relaxed, took a nap then headed to Elmhurst for my friend's daughter's 1st bday party!! The snow was pretty crazy but we made it. And it was fun! The little girl is so freakin' cute!! She's so active and on the go! We stayed pretty late but it was fun to hang out with my friend and her hubby.
Sun; slept late again. DH's early morning trip to NJ got cancelled so we decided to head to Columbus Circle to check out Xmas decorations. Again, i didn't do my research and realized that there wasn't really much in the way of decorations. They have those huge stars hanging in the lobby that change colors and then they do a light show at *5pm*! We were there around noon.
So we just walked thru some stores till we got hungry. We hopped on the train and headed down to Puck Fair in Soho. It wasn't what i had in mind, but DH wanted to go, so it was okay. I got really sleepy after my Irish coffee and thought i was going to take a nap when i got home. But then i guess the coffee part kicked in cuz i turned in to a cleaning tornado! Much to DH's chagrin...
Once we were done, we watched Veronica Mars on dvd then went to bed!
Re: How was your weekend?
weekend was pretty good, mostly low-key which we needed. my crazy SIL couldn't make it up here so that was a relief b/c i really wasn't looking forward to hosting the last three days before we leave for MA.
friday: made soup for dinner, put away laundry, etc...
saturday: slept in!, ran a few errands in the city and fo hi and got home not too long after it started snowing. baked brownies and made pizza for an at home date with DH. watched four christmases, which was funny.
sunday: slept in, worked on tidying up the apartment, baked some cookies, wrapped some presents, and just hung out.
We had a pretty good weekend too!
Friday: just hung out at home (I think, can't remember too well....)
Saturday: we were up super early because of the fire scare & 911 call. So we picked up the laundry (they open at 7:30!), took Sydney to the park for some well deserved running time, then shopped the farmer's market. Then we relaxed at home until it was time to pick up our CSA share. Then just cozied up in the apartment while it snowed outside.
Sunday: prenatal yoga in the morning! then came home and puttered around the apartment cleaning, cooking, etc. DH felt like he was getting sick so he put himself in a bubble, drank tea and I wasn't allowed near him because I might get sick too. [:-(] I went to bed pretty early and now only a couple more days until the holiday!!
