Selling designer bags/shoes on CL?

Has anyone tried selling designer items on CL? I don't want to sell thru Designer Exchange, last time I got almost nothing for my prada shoes. I wonder if I would have better luck on CL?

Any thoughts?

TIA

Re: Selling designer bags/shoes on CL?

  • I've tried to sell a couple of designer bags on CL for a few months now with no luck;  Not sure why, but hopefully you'll have better luck with your items.  I ended up keeping them.
  • I listed a balenciaga bag on craigslist several months ago and only got one response after like a month... I'd sold it on ebay by that point in time and had forgotten about the CL listing.  I don't know if people just don't really look on CL for designer stuff or they think most of the stuff on CL is fake.  I'd stick to ebay.
  • I wish I knew about your bag!! I guess I will stick to ebay.
  • Also, if you ever want to consign a bag and don't want to mess with ebay, hgbagsonline.com is awesome.  The girl who runs it is named Erica - no worries about authenticity, she's a well respected member of TPF and there's a whole long thread about her in the Bal forum.  Her consignment fee is 18% which is pretty reasonable.  She does shoes too but only if they're new.
  • I've never sold a bag on CL but my MIL swears by a place called Little Liberties out in Taylor and she says she gets a pretty good amount of money back from selling her stuff there.  Might be worth at least calling and seeing what they could do.  Maybe you could send them a picture of the bag and then they can give you a price.
