I think I had a nervous breakdown yesterday and I think it scared DH, haha

I have been soooooooooo soooooo stressed lately.  I've been working my 2 jobs and I just had finals last week.  I only work 12 hours/week at my first office job, but Kohls has been scheduling me like 40 hours a week lately because of the holidays.  So with the 50 hours of work plus the studying, it'd been crazy.  I've been working a ton of 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. shifts at Kohls, which just seems to take a lot out of me and I've just been so tired lately.

So, working all those shifts and trying to study for my finals in the past two weeks has taken a lot out of me.  Yesterday was the first day I've had off from both of my jobs in weeks, so I had all these plans to relax, play our new Wii game, and catch up on laundry/housework.  Until....DH's crazy family all of a sudden dropped in on us "to visit".  Even though we're going to see them for 2 days for Christmas.  They live 2 hours away.  We got home from church at noon, and they came at 1 p.m. and stayed until 8 p.m.  Ughhh.  My day of relaxation and catching up on stuff was totally ruined.  And, I was supposed to do a 7 mile run yesterday for my training program, and I was really looking forward to it, since I won't be able to work out at all this week. So that didn't happen either.

When they left last night, I just had this big mental breakdown about his family and my jobs and him not helping me around the house as much.  I've cried in front of him before, but nothing like the 2+ hours of the hysterical crying I did last night.  I think I scared him, haha, but I also think it finally got through to him how stressed I've been.

Hopefully life is better now.  However, between both of my jobs, I work 11-12 hours a day today, tomorrow, and Wednesday.  :(  So maybe life will be better after Wednesday.

Vent over.  Thanks for listening. :)

  • You deserved that breakdown.  Not that they're fun, but it's good to get it out.

Here's a margarita: Drinks.  You deserve that too :)

Hang in there.  You'll make it through this.

  • I sooooo sorry you had a breakdown. You NEEDED that day and they stole it! How rude!  I'm glad your hectic schedule is coming to an end and you will get to relax more soon. I just finished my first semester of work and school so I totally understand. Its A LOT.  I can't say I'm looking forward to starting classes in January.

And when your ILs come unannounced they shouldn't expect you to entertain them. Your DH could have entertained them and let you go run. I have "escaped" from my ILs before. Sometimes its just necessary...

  • ahaha aw dont worry about it! we all have those breakdowns once in awhile! I hope you get some relaxation soon girl! dont work too hard!!! :)
  • you poor thing!! I sure hope you feel better soon =)
  • You poor thing!!!! I worked 2 jobs around the holidays a few years back.  The long hours are AWFUL!!!!  Hang in there!!! You will get through it!

When all this is over make sure you take a couple days just for you!  You need some ME time!

  • Are you Super Woman???  Cause, I just don't see how anyone can do that!  You are awesome!  Glad the stress is coming to an end soon.  And at some point, w/ all that stress going on, you reach your breaking point and need to let it out and thats ok.
