Officially outgrown my biggest pair of shoes

How quickly it happened.  I was still wearing heels on Thursday.  Tonight, after dinner, I couldn't get my shoes back on to get home.  Even untied with the laces as far apart as they would go, they were so painful.   The right isn't as bad, but poor lefty is in really rough shape.

Any tips other than keeping them elevated?

I don't know what I'm going to wear now.  I even sunk so low as to look for my gardening crocs, but can't find one.

Re: Officially outgrown my biggest pair of shoes

  • still no replies so I thought I would reply! I have no tips but I know my Mom's feet permanently grew during the last few weeks pregnancy, she was an 8.5 before and now she's a 9.5. (not looking forward to seeing how big my size 11 feet get when I have kids). Hopefully keeping your legs up helps the swelling go down, and maybe staying off your feet will curb the permanent increase in size.

That is so exciting you're so far along, I am SOOOOO happy for you!!! Did you post after pics of the nursery with the colours you chose or still a WIP??

  • Thanks Andrea.  I don't think they're growing - just hugely swollen.  If I press on my ankle, it leaves a dent - yuck!

I will post pictures, but want to wait until it's finished.  We're just waiting for artwork to be framed, the curtains and a few other decorative things that are being shipped or brought by my parents this week.  Hopefully I'll have a chance to post before the little guys arrives - which could be in as little as 8 DAYS as my Dr is trying to bump my C/S up.   EIGHT SLEEPS (or non-sleeps) AAAAHHHHH!!!

  • exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • You could get some slippers that have a hard bottom.  Thats what I've been doing.  Just don't go walking in any snowbanks.  I can't believe your little one is almost here!

  • I used to soak my feet in cold water all the time and when I wasn't doing that I would take my socks, soak them in water and put them in the freezer. I would then wear them until they became warm again.

I've heard that cucumbers and watermelon can help with water retention and my OB said to drink Gatorade.

Once you've had the C/S you will swell up even more! If goes away fairly quickly though.

  • Shoes are for losers.
  • I bought a pair of those special socks from Shoppers. I have no idea what the heck they are called but they are about $35 and help matters!
  • Drink more water and wear your crocs.  I bought some pretty balet ones for the end.  My feet wouldn't fit anything.  Lay off the salt and sorry,  keep your feet up.
