videographer vent

Ladies - Just need to vent for 2 seconds.  I just got my wedding video back and our vidographer did a really great job of capturing our day... BUT the video and audio aren't synched up. It is like watching a foreign film that they dubbed over in English.  They already had to re-do it because some of the footage had some glitch where it would sort of stop and start - almost a hesitation for a fraction of a second really - but seriously, didn't they notice that the mouths were moving and not matching the audio?!  I sent a polite but obviously pointed email to the guy saying that I didn't feel that the quality of the finished product matched with his experience and I would appreciate new sets where the audio matched the video. I'm so bummed that I had to be the one to point it out.

  • how sucky! They didn't proof the video before they sent it to you? Something must have been off when the compressed the files (or whatever it is they do...this happened recently to a video we were putting together for one of our Web sites at work...we had to re-process it). Hopefully he is responsive to your message!
  • I completely understand and yet at at least you have a video. Our videographer told us that we were at the cut off point to get a video by Christmas and when I contacted him to find out about our progress, his response was that they typically take 10-12 weeks to turn around. Well that's fine, but don't tell me that there's a chance of us getting it back before Christmas.

  • arobertson - that stinks!  We should have had ours by Thanksgiving and didn't get it because of "a death in the family" which who knows if that actually was the case and I was totally bummed about it then.  We were going to give copies to our folks as part of their holiday gifts and, like you, don't know if we'll have them back or not for that.

     I did get a response from him today and they are fixing it so we'll see when they come in the mail how they look.
