Holiday confessions anyone?
What do you need to confess to this holiday season?
Re: Holiday confessions anyone?
Mine is really funny. MH was going to buy me the movie "4 Christmases" as a Christmas gift but he hadn't been anywhere to get it without me. He said something about wanting to buy it for me in Walmart last night when we were getting movies for all the "date night" baskets. I said to go ahead and get it and I would act surprised.
His response was "Why don't we buy it from the cats and dogs and watch it tonight?"
We did what he suggested. We even thanked the animals and gave them extra treats for being sooo thoughtful. HA...

We haven't gotten each other gifts at all. I don't really miss it, even. LOL
The gifts we have gotten for other people are sitting near our tree in the bags they were brought home in.
(Just as confession-worthy: we're wrapping them tonight while watching the Muppets' Christmas Carol. LOL)
I bought my own gift (with my husbands money) and gave it to MH and told him it was my Christmas gift from hum. I asked him this morning if he had wrapped it yet and he was like you already know what it is. I told him I didn't care and it better be wrapped.
I brought in cookies for people at work, I put them out in the file room with a card, I have eaten three so far.
I am a selfish brat, I am sad my aunt broke her knee, I feel awful for her, but I am really sad she won't be at Christmas
I wish we wouldn't buy gifts for each other. I'd rather be saving our money. MH always thinks I'm such a scrooge for wanting to do this. I really wish I could convince him to do this.
I'm pretending I haven't bought MH anything for Christmas but come Friday he's going to be really surprised when he sees the watch he's been wanting for a while along with a bunch of other things he has no idea he's getting. And the whole reason why I'm pretending I haven't gotten him anything...so he feels really bad and buys me something extra nice
That's what the holiday is all about right? Guilt? LOL!
DH is only getting "practical" things from me, I looked for something fun for him but couldn't come up with anything.
DH's parents gave us each $75 for Christmas this weekend and I made DH use his for the nursery stuff he's picking up tonight (I also used mine).
What'd he buy you?

A kindle! I'm very excited about it!
So jealous! I'm really really really really really hoping I have one somewhere under our tree or my mom's tree! I've been wanting one for over a year now! I have all my accessories picked out already!

We haven't started wrapping our gifts yet and truthfully, I'm not looking forward to it. I wish I could just hand them the gifts in the store bags and go here, I'm sure you'll never use it/wear it/play with it. So just take it back with the gift receipt. I know it sounds horrible but DH's family is the worst to shop for!
We finally wrapped everything last night and I normally love it. But it got really old come 8:30-8:45 when I really just wanted to go to bed! I can't imagine had we bought more gifts or for a lot of people like several of you do... I would've just paid for it all to be done. LOL
Ugh I have to start wrapping tonight and I'm not looking forward to it. You can usually tell which presents I wrap first because they are nice and neat and have pretty bows. Then the ones towards the end don't even get bows. LOL!
I gave up on bows a long time ago! The cats always pick them off. I'm lucky if the presents stay wrapped the whole time they are under the tree. This year Derick's 11 year old cousin was over and he insisted on helping me wrap so they definitly look less than perfect.
The only reason why I use bows is because kids like them so much! Declan is fascinated by them and loves pulling them off of his presents. So does Toby
