POLL: Your Holiday Schedule
What is your week going to be like? Do you have 1 party or 5? Are you hosting any yourself? Spending some quiet time with DH at home? Have any New Years Plans? etc.
I know that when I have something to look forward to, the time getting to the event seems to go by quicker!

We had Christmas with friends on Saturday and Christmas with D's immediate family yesterday.
My younger sister is coming to visit tomorrow, my parents are coming up on the 24th. We have D's extended famiy christmas on the 24th, then my family over on Christmas day and dinner at my sister's on boxing day.
My parents were planning to leave on the 27th, but now with the possibility of my C/S being moved up to next week, they may just stay. BUSY BUSY BUSY!
22nd - My parents, brother, DH and I are going out to dinner and then opening our gifts to each other! Normally this would be on the 23rd but see below to see why it's earlier...
23rd - my parents are hosting a dinner with DH's parents.
24th - DH and I both don't work so we'll open our gifts to eachother in the morning/afternoon and head over to DH's uncles house for Dinner. We later go to Christmas 'Midnight' Mass (I love it) and once we get home it's p.j.'s on & gift time! We normally all sleep over the "hosts" house but DH and I are stopping that. #1, I need my bed right now and the comfort of going to pee 8 times a night #2, Once LO is here I want my own time with her at MY home being OUR family, kwim?
25th - Get all dolled up and head to my family's place (this year it's my mom's turn) We again eat late lunch/early dinner, exchange Secret Santa gifts and open any others. I've already been told that Mia has a few gifts BUT to not tell her - it's a surprise...LMAO. At around 11:00 we whip out the seafood and snacks to munch on! DH and I will sleep over since we get our own bedroom w/ bathroom at my mom's place (it's more comfortable for me).
26th - Go to Heartland Mall at 7:00 am for baby clothing & video camera sale shopping w/ friends. Might go watch a movie too....
31st - Banquet Hall - Oasis C.C. with family & friends
1st - My aunts house for dinner and it's my other aunts B-day.
Phewwwww!!!
Oh and then I'll be on maternity leave for 1 year......or more
I totally know what you mean!!! but it's fun and it wouldn't feel like Christmas to me with out all the running around!!
24th - IL's come over in the morning and are staying until the 26th. MIL and I will start preparing everything for Christmas Day because DH and I are hosting.
25th - Wake up, put turkey in the oven, and open presents with DH's parents. My parents, brother & SIL w/kids are all coming up for late Christmas Day lunch but will probably arrive some time in the a.m.
26th - My parents, and IL's all leave and DH and I are on our own to relax or go shopping.
I'm back at work on the 28th & 29th then I'm off until the New Year.
30th - No plans!! Yay!
31st - My birthday - yay! We are having fondue dinner at our place with some friends, and possibly heading out somewhere afterwards. We'll play it by ear.
1st, 2nd, 3rd - No plans! Yay!
Are they hoping a better offer may still come along?
Well I am off starting tomorrow, holidays really start on Thursday.
We are flying to Calgary on Thurs Dec 24, we are spending Christmas at my parents house in Calgary.
Dec 26 we are driving to Gloden BC and going to Kicking Horse (ski resort) for 4 nights!!
Dec 30th we are driving to Edmonton. We are going for dinner at my aunt's house. We are staying over night at my cousin's house.
Dec 31st we are going to my other aunt's house for lunch.
Dec 31st at night we are going to a friend of DH's house for NYE!! It is pretty cool that one of DH's friends moved out West so the holiday isn't all about me and my family.
Dec 1st I imagine we'll be driving back to Calgary and we fly back on the 2nd. PHEWF what a crazy busy trip.
The last few weekends we have been doing the holidays with DH's family.
Well I am just excited I am on vacation for 2 weeks... yea... and DH is on afternoons for 3 days and then will be off 24(pm) until the 5th!
22nd - I am having dinner with my parents and some family friends for my dad's birthday
24th - DH and I are hosting a Christmas Eve GTG; for family and friends
25th - Still waiting of my brother and parents to make up there mind what they are doing but DH and I are planning on sleeping in and maybe traveling to my parents place for breakfast or having my parents and brother over for breakfast. Visiting DH's father sometime around lunch. If weather is doing will we will drive up to Collingwood for a few days to see DH's family.
26th- 30th - Visiting DH's family and/ or friends home for holidays
31st - We have 4 different options or choices as we have not finalized.. we are either going to Trenton to party with my uncles and aunts OR Hanging out for a quiet night with a friends family in from BC OR Going to DH military mess for a party OR Party hoping to 3 different party's friends are all throwing!!!
Dec 24th- Getting my meal all ready to go, then off to IL's for Xmas Eve Dinner and Mass.
Dec 25th- Wake up at our own house have breakfast and open gifts. Then we have to head over to IL's again to exchange gifts with them and DH sister and her kids. Coming back home (we only live 5 minutes away from IL's) finishing up my dinner and my dad and his wife are coming over at 3pm for dinner.
Dec 26th- Going to a friends for Boxing day visit and dinner, do this every year, we might try and get a bit of shopping in before hand if RJ is not too tired.
Dec 31st- Going to a friends for fondue and celebration.
Jan 1st - Resting at home, might go to IL's or SIL's for dinner this has not been decided yet.
Jan 2nd - Good friends come home from holidays so we are having them come over when they land, and we are making it a surprise early birthday for DH.
On the 23rd we are driving down to NY state to visit with DH family friends (which is their yearly tradition). We are staying for two nights, and having dinner at their house on Christmas eve. We will probably have a brunch Christmas day, and then come back home that afternoon. That will bring us home just in time to have dinner with my family on Christmas day, phew!
We are thinking of going for two days up to DH's family cottage next week, but it is not winterized and not sure how the weather will be. Still thinking about that one. Then we are going to a family party on NYE.
Our week is pretty hectic. Wednesday night is holiday dinner with my friends at our place. Then, Christmas Eve, we are going to Nate's parents place. After there, we are going to my parents house and spending the night. Christmas morning is at my parents house. We split up around noonish and I head to my grandma's and he heads to his parents. Then, we meet up again at around early evening time at my aunt's house for Christmas dinner. Boxing day is at my aunt's house for dinner.
It will be insane. There have already been problems because my FMIL wants me all for herself and she is getting mad that I want to spend Christmas with my family.
For New Years Eve, we are going to my aunt's house first and then heading out clubbing with our friends.
Next year, God only knows how we will spend Christmas when the twins are here.
We don't have anything major this year. Our Christmas will be quiet. On Wednesday I am baking a Red Velvet Cake for Christmas Day dinner, on Christmas Eve The Mr. works until 630 then we're going over to my parents place to spend the night.
On Christmas Day we'll be opening presents with my folks and possibly my cousin and her husband. She's from Ontario but isn't going there until New Years. The IL's are supposed to be coming in to our place sometime on Christmas Day. It apparently depends on the weather. Frankly I hope it snows so much they can't make it out of the garden but I don't know if i'll be that lucky.
Well our Holidays don't start till Christmas Eve:
Dec 24th - We both work till Noon and then we are heading over to my parents place for dinner and games. We will come back to our house that night (about a 50 min drive)
Dec 25th - Breakfast just the two of us! FH is making me waffles. I am really looking forward to sipping our coffee, eating waffles in our pajamas and opening our presents to each other just by ourselves!! Then my parents and sisters are heading over to get here around noon to open the rest of the presents and help prepare dinner. We are expecting my future IL's late afternoon as they are driving from B.C.
Dec 26th & 27th - Hanging with the IL's, showing them around town and taking them shopping.
Dec 31st - Party with all of my friends at at Cabin by the lake ice skating and standing around a bonfire. Really excited!
Jan 1st - Brunch with my family. Then nothing for the rest of the day!
Jan 2nd & 3rd - Nothing!!
My ILs are plan changers. ?We have no idea how this is going to work, because apparently we have to be at all three parents homes on Christmas day for dinner. ?(SERIOUSLY.)

So far all I know is we committed to ?my mom overnight on the 25/26, and she demanded we come for 3pm on the 25th. ?
MIL *just* told me she won't be home until about 10pm from picking up SIL at the airport & BIL in Hamilton on the 24th. ? She is doing a Turkey dinner for 1pm on Christmas day.
Dave just told me (and MIL confirmed) that FIL/sMIL bought a turkey for dinner Christmas day.

Ugh. ?shoot me now. ?I don't even EAT turkey.

But, for the first time ever Dave's BFF asked us to his home on NYE (instead of demanding), and it was the most pleasant/friendly invitation we have ever had from the guy so we are going to go there for his birthday party since we skipped the last 2 years. ?(You may recall this is always drama for us!).
And, NYE marks Dave and I being a couple for 10 years! Yay.?
My FI and I just bought a house in June. We now have the most space out of all my siblings and my parents so we are hosting. First Hosting Christmas!! I'm so exciting. I've been baking since early November.

12 - 13 - Christmas with FI's family since some of them are going away for Christmas.
21 - FI's parents stay the night so they can fly out to see his brother the next day.
22 - 28 - My sister from Edmonton is coming to stay. (Her, Hubby, 2 yr old on the 26th
22 - Charity Christmas Party at the dance studio
24 - 27- My Parents come into town to stay with us.
24 - Christmas Eve Mass. This will be my first one in the church I am at doing my RCIA. I'm very excited
25 - My sister in Calgary comes over for Christmas morning and stays all day. (Her, Hubby, 2.5 yr old, 1 yr old)
26 - Niece's 2nd Birthday!!
29 - FI's parents stay the night after their late flight back, they drive home the next day
31 - Wii New Years Eve PJ party at my dance instructors house.
2 - Taboggan party with friends
3 - Movie with my friend and my sister.
FI and I will get a few days to ourselves which will most likely be spent watching movies and playing whatever video games we get for Christmas. I'm looking forward to enjoying having my family up. My nieces are such a joy to have around.

24th- dinner at SILs
25th- mass in morning. Dinner at other SILs
otherwise, that's about all the organized stuff that's planned. I'm sure we'll see more of DH's family over the following week as we're all off on vacay then. Normally DH and I would go away for a skiing mini-vacation over NYE but with me being pregnant, and us not having a ton of money, we nixed that for this year. May hang out with friends on NYE but are playing it by ear right now
