OB/Gyn in Queens or Nassau County?

I need a new OB.  Now that we are TTC, I want someone I like, not someone I just tolerate! (that's how I feel about my current guy...)

When I do get pg ::knock on wood:: I'd like to deliver at North Shore/LIJ so I'm looking for someone in Queens or Nassau that is relatively close to me in Bayside.  Any recs?  I don't care if it's a guy or girl, as long as they  have a good bedside manner and will listen to me and my concerns!

Re: OB/Gyn in Queens or Nassau County?

  • No suggestions, i just wanted to say GL!! Big Smile I feel the exact same way about Gyno's (although i prefer female docs) and i've been pretty lucky with my last 2. But they're in the city.
  • My guy is fine for now - but he is very quick and gets you out of there in under 5 minutes.  And he doesn't really listen when you talk to him...

I seem to be having some issues with a short LP, so I need a doc who will take time to listen to me and go over my charts (I've been charting for 7 months, even though we've only TTC for one) and help me out.  I have a feeling my current guy would dismiss my charting and tell me to keep trying and come back in a few months if it still didn't work!

  • I like my Ob/Gyn. I have only been to her Jamaica Office (which she is closing down this month), but she does have an office in Bellerose (on Union Turnpike - not sure if that is anywhere near you) and is affiliated with the LIJ. Her number 718-470-0222

By the way good luck for your BFP this month!!

ETA: I forgot to say her name. It's Dr. Hema Sabathay. She is professional and kinda old school.

  • I have seen Dr. Barbara Hessel in Forest Hills once for my annual.  She was very nice, did a thorough interview, quick exam, and was timely.
  • I love my OBGYN! Her name is Dr. Rohan at North Shore Womens Health. Good luck!
