Calling hours for Mike will be at the Harloff Funeral Home in East Rochester from 4-7 on Tuesday night. I will probably try to go around 6:00, let me know if anyone would like to carpool.

I'd like to carpool. 6 works for me. Do you think I should bring the gift to the funeral home? I don't want it to get lost in the shuffle but I'm afraid if I mail it it won't get to her before she leaves for NC and that's a lot of $ to leave sitting in a mailbox. What do you think?

Hmm.... She might be overwhelmed at the funeral home, but I'd have to say that it'd be a good idea to get it to her asap. So, go for it! I just don't know if she'd forget if she has other things, like flowers, to worry about getting home, too. YKWIM?

take it with you. She should have it as soon as possible. Maybe she'll have her purse near her and she can put it in there.

I really want to be there. Unfortunately, I have to work and this is obviously a very busy week..there is just no way to make it Tuesday evening. This is just so heartbreaking.

I agree, take it along and hope for an opportunity. If you can't give it to her, maybe his parents can hang on to it and give it to her later.

I would like to go, but would come from work and I have no one to watch Ryan. I would probably arrive around 5:15, not sure if any nesties would be there by then and maybe could hang out in the car with Ryan while I pop in real quick?

I won't be able to go on Tuesday either, but Read2Me I think it's best to give it to her there- maybe just make sure she has her purse nearby or if she has a family member with her that's taking care of things they could run and stick it in her bag. Thanks for taking care of this.

I agree, I think we should give it to her on Tuesday. I'd feel better if it got directly into someones hands as opposed to just dropping it in the mail.

I don't feel comfortable attending in person but I send my sincere condolences. If it's not a violation of privacy, I would like to send a sympathy card if someone would send me her address.

I can't imagine she'd mind, but I'll check with Riv to make sure it's OK and I can PM or email those of you who would like to send a card with her address. Barring that, I can give you my address and then arrange to get the bundle to her.

I was hoping I'd be able to leave for Rochester a day early and get there, but I can't leave until Weds, so I won't be able to go. If you are able to share her address, or if you are bundling cards, I'd be interested in sending one.

Why does Roch. have to be so far from Albany? I can't leave work until 4, so wouldn't be able to get there in time. This is just so heartbreaking, and I wish I could go.
