West Side Dog Groomer?

Hi all,

Any suggestions on where to take our pup for a good grooming session (bath and nails primarily)?  Our pup has gotten too big for our stationary tub in the laundry room and with all this snow, she has gotten filthy from digging and playing.  I'd prefer somewhere on the west side but would be willing to drive a bit east as well.  We have a Petsmart near us but have heard some negative reports on their groomers.  Anyone with good experiences from there?  Any suggestions would be great as well!  Thank you!!

Re: West Side Dog Groomer?

  • I take my dogs to the vet.  Fluff is a stinker who needs to be sedated & muzzled so they can cut his nails.  Not cheap but the vet techs are 1000% better than any grooming place I've visited.  Come to think of it, Petsmart did his nails when he was 6 months old and he's never allowed anyone near his paws since.  My vet is in Dayton though, but you could always ask your vet.  We used to take our parents old dog to Denny's Dog  House on Cheviot Rd in White Oak for nail trims.  They seemed pretty reasonable and the groomers never gave me a bad vibe.  She was a really easy going dog though.

  • Thanks for your input!  I will ask our vet for a recommendation!
  • I've taken my golden retriever to the Petsmart on the Westside and was satisfied. I don't have them cut her nails... only wash, dry, and trim her hair. I know there is a place called Goldie's Grooming on Glenway and there's a place right next door to the LaRosas on Rapid Run that does grooming.
  • Not sure if you are still looking but we go to Goldie's on Glenway Avenue.  It is next to Faigle Jewelery.  Our dog doesn't do well with baths and they are great with her!  Not too expensive either.
