the vacation scrapbook gift for my parents 'gift' is finished and DH wants to give it to them in a large tote- to throw them off. our idea is to fill to tote with things that you would need/want to have on a road trip. it's a great idea but now we have a twofold problem- what to put in the tote and where to find the stuff
so far i'm thinking:
magnetic travel games- anyone see them in stores? backgammon would be great
those 'yes or know' books with the invisible ink pens- i saw them recently but i can't remember what store i was in
a beach pail & shovel- not sure if any store would have these this time of year
anything else you ladies think would be a great addition to the Road Trip to Maine tote?!
TIA
Re: need some help (ideas& places)
Not sure where to find the items you mentioned above, but maybe Walmart, KMart, Target or TRU?
- How about maps or books on things to do in Maine/About Maine.
- MadLibs (have seen them at BB&B of all places).
- Snacks/beverages
- Travel mugs
- Money for tolls if there are any
- Gas card
- If it's summertime, maybe some beach towels?
- If winter, maybe some hot chocolate or cozy socks/mittens?
It's a great idea - nice job!

If you are AAA members you could go get some free maps and a travel book. For travel games, etc. check Walmart, or TRU- I think I've seen the magnetic Yahtzee, etc. there.
One thing I bought DH for a stocking stuffer last year was a card game called Table Topics. I got it from Amazon, and it's cards with questions that start discussion- a good mix of funny and serious topics. We started doing it at dinner a few nights a week and it's been great. I think it would be easy to bring along for a long car trip as well.
