Geeky Christmas Confession

I'm saving all of the evelopes addressed to "Mr. & Mrs. NewLastName." I'm inexplicably excited every time I get one. I think I like the envelopes better than some of the cards.

  • It's my favorite part of the whole Christmas card thing too. :) But I sadly threw all our envelopes away and kept the cards. Fail.

  • I've noticed a lot of people just addressing us as The NewLastNames. I find it kind of odd and funny, since Mr. and Mrs. is the norm. I'm hoping its just a this year thing.

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • We've been getting a lot of Mr and Mrs. HisFIrstName OurLastName -- which I have mixed feelings about. The traditional part of me is psyched to see it that way, but then modern side is screaming "I have my own first name!"

I know! I address all my cards to Her and His LastName, putting whichever one we know better first. I do The LastName Family when they have kids and because I was in too much of a rush this year to write everything out.  I also love how everyone assumes I took his last name...

  • That's how I addressed mine too!

This area is so... what's the word... non-forward thinking? No one would ever assume I kept my maiden name.

  • Twitter friends know where I live bc I took a picture of the first Christmas card we got as Mr and Mrs and posted it. This is how Mamie is going to stalk me. Creeper. Wink

I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
  • H's grandma's card arrived yesterday and it was hilarious... it was addressed to Mr. and Mrs Josh B......... + Daisy + Kitties.  LOL.

We got one addressed to The HyphenatedLastName's. I was happy that someone used our hyphenated last name...but the apostrophe fail ruined everything.

I didn't take his last name, so when we get stuff to Mr. and Mrs. C HisName I really hate it. But we just put a couple of new bills under both of your names and I like seeing both our names in the plastic window.

  • We got a bunch of cards addresses to DH and KEB Lastname. Only problem? I didn't change my name! It actually didn't bother me since most people just assumed that I changed it. But my MIL just wrote to Dh Lastname and KEB. She didn't even give me a last name. HAHAHAHA
