As if I needed it rubbed in my face, Sandals sent me a Christmas ecard with photos of a (fake) snowman on the beach. So I went to their website just to further torture myself. In January they're opening a new resort- Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas. All of the rooms are butler suites with oceanfront views. So just for the hell of it I got a quote for 7 nights at the beginning of March. The top room, which is a 2 story beachfront villa with its own pool, is $15, 302.40 for a 7 night stay (you do get the first night free though!). That's over $2,500 a night! Wow!

Think DH would go for that for our one year anniversary?? Yeah right... that's almost as much as my car cost! For those of you that haven't taken your honeymoons yet, where are you planning on going??
Re: Second honeymoon anyone?
Oh, anything to get away right now. Our honeymoon wasn't exactly warm, but I would loove to see Paris at Christmastime.
At least we are heading a fair ways south tomorrow. Georgia isn't exactly tropical, but at least it won't be freezing.

MY BLOG!
We're thinking of doing a bed and breakfast in Savannah, GA. If money's bad we'll settle for Galena, IL.
DH's cousin is getting married in Hawaii next NYE (December 31, 2010), and I'm really pushing it as a good excuse to take a nice little trip to Hawaii, and maybe spend a few days before/after the wedding festivities just to ourselves. I'm crossing my fingers, but I don't think DH is convinced at all yet! Lol.
Uhhhh I keep getting emails from the hotel spa we stayed at in Hawaii. Yup..... We are going to San Francisco for Valentine's Day weekend. Super excited! And yes have always wanted to go to Savannah....my Aunt lives an hour from there and they have a lot of cool antique shops etc. Very romantic.
I've been dying to go there since seeing "The Legend of Baggar Vance" and "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." I LOVE the old mansions, the southern charms... and DH even agreed to take me on a haunted tour (-he's not into that kinda stuff, but I think it'd be great!). I hope I get to go!
I love sandals and the new one looks amazing. I can't imagine having that type of money to spend after paying for a wedding...maybe for a anniversary down the road.
We are going to do a cruise for our 1 year anniversary/second honeymoon. We did disneyworld for our honeymoon so we wanted something more relaxing and tropical. We decided to go for an 8 day cruise as we figure this will be the last one we can do before we have kids (hopefully) or that we are spending the $$$$ to try and have kids.
SF is awesome, thats where we went on our honeymoon. Make sure you go to House of Nanking! lol
I would love to go on a cruise to the caribbean sometime this April or May. DH is terrified, he thinks its gonna be like titanic. I told him there's no icebergs in the caribbean tho hehehe

Wow, that's a little pricey for me! Haha!
We actually did go on a honeymoon in October, a 7-day cruise in the Caribbean. It was actually our second cruise in the Caribbean - the first one was in 2006 and we went to different islands each time. On the last day of our honeymoon, we decided that our next vacation would not be a tropical one. Sure, the Caribbean is great, but an island is an island and we really want to go to Europe next.
About a week after we got back from our honeymoon, we found out that DH's sister is getting married in Jamaica! Assuming we can save the money, we're going in May. I guess it'll be our 7-month-iversary.
Maybe Europe will be in 2011.
Sorry, I posted before I read the other responses...
Karen - DH and I went to Savannah on a day-trip during a time we were in Atlanta to see friends in the fall of 2008. It really was beautiful, but as a heads-up, we were both really glad that we were only there for 2 days (got there mid-morning, spent that night, left the next morning). There just wasn't too much to do after you take in the scenery. If you're there longer than that, I hear planning a trip to a beach is the thing to do - I guess a beach in SC is close...? Something like that.
