the cool (and grinchy) thing about expecting twins

I'd forgotten to tell people my super grinchy story for this Christmas. Smile

This past Sunday, we had Christmas with MIL, FIL, SIL, her boyfriend/fiance/whatever and the niece (who, btw, isn't quite the terror I was afraid she would be, but is still a little bit of a sh!t. Just sayin'.).

Since making conversation with SIL and BF/FI/whatever is about as pleasant as having teeth pulled, I bunkered down on the couch after we ate for a little nap. I wasn't exactly sleeping, just lying down with my eyes closed, but almost immediately people started whispering, "Aw, poor thing is so tired with the twins...we'll let her rest." I got to drowse/lay blissfully alone in my own company for nearly three hours while everyone else was outside talking and it was AWESOME.

And yes, I know I probably sound super grinchy and anti-social, and I don't care. I don't like trying to make conversation with the world's most irrational woman and the guy who mostly just grunts, and since this was the only year I'll be able to get away with this, I took it. Stick out tongue

Re: the cool (and grinchy) thing about expecting twins

  • love it!! Maybe I can get away with this... but how? Do you think I'm so tired from working full time, breastfeeding, waking every 3 hours at night (yes still!!)? do you think it would work *wink wink*? =)
  • Hahaha that's great!  And don't worry... next year you can use the excuse of having to take care of TWO babies.  Oh imagine the amount of "work" you can use as an excuse to get out of awkward/lame converstaions?
  • haha, that's great Big Smile

  • That, my friend, is AWESOME!  I'd totally have done it too.
  • I fully support milking this pregnancy for everything -- everything! -- that it's worth.  That includes getting out of painful conversation with annoying relatives!  Stick out tongue
  • Hahaha...hilarious!  And I agree that next year you can definitely use the boys as an excuse to run away from them when you need to.
