question for FF ladies

I normally take my temp between 6 and 7am.  this morning, i woke up at 5am - temp was 97.87.  didn't get out of bed, went back to sleep, woke up at 8am - temp was 98.71.  such a big difference!  i thought it was only supposed to be 0.2 degrees per extra hour(?) of sleep?  what should I put down?

i think i go with the higher number, b/c my other temps have been above 98 the last few days, and before that, they were all below 97.8 - ie, i think i'm ovulating...?

this is my first cycle charting, so I'm still trying to figure everything out.  thanks!

Re: question for FF ladies

  • Ooooh...you're TTC!  Yay!

I would take the first one because it's the one where you had the most consecutive hours of sleep beforehand, regardless of whether you got out of bed or not.  With my weird sleep hours, I always just took the first temp and even though it was a different time everyday, I was still able to see a clear temp shift.  HTH!  And good luck!

  • I'd use the earlier one, since it's closer to your average wakeup time than the second temp and you had the longest period of uninterrupted sleep (even if you didn't get out of bed) - otherwise, you can use the temp conversion tool on FF to calculate what it would have been if you woke up at your normal time, and use that temp if you'd prefer. Smile
  • hrm, okay, i'll go with the earlier one...  we're not ttc - yet.  but soon Wink  i have two snowboarding trips planned for january, so we'll hold off for another month or so at least.  ...i always wanted a spring baby, but who knows how long it will take anyway!

this is my 3rd cycle off bcp, and they're so long and unpredictable, charting has already been really educational, even though i'm still learning.  many thanks for the input!

    Totally jealous.

FWIW, my cycles were totally long and crazy, too, and charting definitely helped.

Smile  yeah, I'm excited.  i'm going to whistler and to park city (for sundance!) with some girlfriends.  MH doesn't ski or snowboard - bad knees Sad - but I love it so much, we make sure I get to go every year.  before we met, I'd go up to local mountains roughly every other weekend, but now i just go on a fun trip 2-3 times a season.

seriously - next year - nestie gtg at whistler or tahoe?  I'm down.  (husbands and babies included!  and we can take turns watching the kids Smile)

  • I'm totally down for a nestie gtg next year.  Don't know how we'll be able to board otherwise!  Haha.

I loved Whistler & Park City!  So glad we got to go to both.  You're so lucky to be going for Sundance.  My old roomates did that and got to meet all kinds of celebs.  Take lots of pics!  Oh, and just a tip - I think Park City Resort is better for boarders than The Canyons.  The Canyons seems to have lots of flat areas where you might have to unstrap...I hate that.
