Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

I felt so stupid on Xmas Eve

My boss got me a GC to the mall.  I felt so bad b/c it never crossed my mind to get him anything.  My only option was to grab a gift card to one of the restaurants that we sell or nothing.  I didn't do anything.  I hate recieving gifts from people.  Is it ok that I didn't buy him anything?

    I think so. You may want to ask the other assistants if they got him something. We all go in as a group and get our bosses something.. Which I am always in charge of and need to think of something!

    Like Melissa said- see if anyone wants to go in with you. If not, I would just give him a nice thank you card. It would be so much easier if he was a she, there are so many more generic-oops I didn't get you anything gifts.

    As a boss, I have always given something to those under me, but never expected those below me to give a gift back (it really isn't expected from me) ad when working for others- I've gotten gifts from bosses, but never thought to give my boss a gift. I really wouldn't worry about it, but would write a gracious thank you note.

    The other 2 mgrs gave him a gift b/c they worked for him last year and knew he would buy something but never told me.  My previous boss didn't do anything for us.  At my old job I would buy for my employees and didn't get anything from them nor did I expect to.

    I think that sort of stinks that the other mgrs didn't say anything to you. I think a nice thank you note would be good to give to him though.
