We got my mom a desktop for Christmas. She hasn't had a home computer since I moved out in 2001. I've been researching Internet but it seems like all the options are expensive for her. DH and I love our Road Runner but we both live on the internet. She would just be checking email/looking at Justin's photos, maybe doing a little shopping. She doesn't have a home phone and just has "basic" cable. Thanks for any suggestions!
Re: Cheap Internet
hmm.. Those broadband cards are pretty pricey.. but if she's not interested in getting a landline.. I think the only option would be roadrunner. I thought roadrunner used to have a cheap option and the regular option.. the cheap one was like $25 when the regular one was $50. But you have to ask for it, I think..they don't really offer it.. Have you called?
My parents have DSL and while I think its cheaper than roadrunner, you need some sort of phone line.. so it would cost extra if you don't, I think.. plus I think it sucks.
